They're choosing their battles, expect heavier resistance to Tillerson and Devos.

They know they can't stop all of them.

Absolutly. While a congressman is only responsible to a very specific set of constituents, many times encompassing a particular demographic that may only be a small percentage of the state polulation as a whole, a senator must represent at least 50% of the entire state. Now it may not be "thier" percentage of people in the state but they have a much larger demographic to consider when opposing any legislation or vote.

Hence you see NO senators "boycotting" the innaugurals, but many congressman. The congress critters can afford the "bad press"; indeed they will benefit by it. A senator is betting his political future, no matter what the state. And that is why they are showing up.

Sell the news? Markets often reverse at major milestones. At least for a little while.

Its been a hell of a rally since the election.

That wasn't exactly what I was intimating.

It hits 20,000 as The Donald swears in.

Got it. That would be nice timing! I was just saying if we do tag 20K or overshoot a tad, I would not be surprised to see a reversal.

Stop it. You're harshing my mellow.

And Pocahontas is on that committee. 1/26 for. It wouldn't surprise me if they caucused to see who would go neg so it wasn't unanimous but wouldn't go against the grain that you describe here.

I had recorded 84 episodes of old CSI:Miami shows, and have watched quite a number of them each night. Much more fun.

Come Friday, I will be in front of the TV all damn day. Hell, I might pee in a jar so as not to miss a moment of it all. Smile

Friday is gonna be great. I am also looking forward to monday when Trump begins to roll back the so called "legacy." Hey Obama....Trumps got a pen and a list of your so called accomplishments.

The Progs don't care about Defense. They care about D. Of Ed. and EPA a lot more, as teachers and environmentalists are core constituencies. I expect they will try to put up more of a fight on those and maybe HUD, than on DoD. I doubt they would care much about State either, except that their precious Hilbot headed it and no Repub nominee can be good enough to replace her.

Thank the good Lord they can't stop a one of these outstanding nominees. I have never been more excited for our country.

They are out to get us and we need make no mistakes about that. That is the truth.

Thirty years ago I was growing up in a small conservative town just south of Boston. We went to church every Sunday, we made sure we said hi to the elderly lady we delivered the paper to every week (mom insisted, just to check), we rode our Huffy's two miles uptown every Saturday to spend our paper rout money on comic books, and we listened to our parents. On Saturday nights we played flashlight tag and stayed out until 11. On Sunday's we hemmed and hawed but we went to church. We had a Franciscan Monk at ours for a while and he was excellent for the community.

We went to school and tried to get good grades; if you didn't you could get grounded or worse. The belt. But you never made the same mistake twice.

When we graduated our parents told us the world was ours. But quite frankly we had no idea what that meant. Some friends went to school, some friends went to jail, some friends went to work.

But we were all Americans. Those times on the couch watching President Reagan give the State Of The Union, or watching the shuttle launch on the crappy TV they rolled into science class...it meant something.

We cannot let them "win" this early by blocking a nomination. We need to hold the lines and go on the offensive. We need to create a "breech" and push on through. Once through the breech we need to secure the lanes and push on. Any victory by the democrats this early will dampen our supply lines, the forgotten Americans.

We punched a YUGE breech in the wall with President Trump and the Congress. Lets shore it up and keep America flowing theough it.

I Can't wait for Friday... Smile

I don't think you'll have to wait 'till Monday. I bet we see some action in the form of executive orders rolling back some of the Obama nonsense before close of business on Friday.

Thanks,

Sap

I am a firm believer in "follow the money". I honestly find donations by folk to be a larger indicator of popularity than donations by mega pacs, and polls.

While much of this is corporate donations, i believe it correlates to a positive view of the incomibg president, and his up coming policies.

So, here ya go.

As it says, those numbers are not adjusted for inflation (withering of the Dollar), so I'm guessing that Trump's event has not really received twice Obama's numbers in constant Dollars (or 2 1/2 to 3 times W's numbers).

And just what does all that money buy? Ten minutes air time to cover the actual swearing in is obviously not all of it.

Using cpi inflation calculator. Obamas 53 million in 2008 equated to 59 million today.

Regan's 20 million in 1985, would be 44.6 million today.

Judge Andrew Napolitano of Fox News has met w Trump twice in Trump Towers.

Napolitano reports that Trump will sign as many as 200 executive orders on Monday

There are a handful that he will likely sign his first day in office, however.

“He’s got a few of them, probably in the area of four to five, that we’re looking at on Friday,” said incoming White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer. “Some of it is logistical things that you have to do in terms of government operations. Then there are some other ones that I expect him to sign with regards to some other issues that have been on his priority list.”
