Worth the read for comedy value, or for truth? The article is on the CNN site.

It reads like they were sailing on the Titanic.

"We went into the night knowing there was a chance our ship could hit an iceburg" PBS "NewsHour" anchor Judy Woodruff said. "But all the smart people said it was not going to happen."
It wasn't just pollsters, pundits and political whizzes who were assuming The Titanic would cruise to victory -- it was the White Star bigwigs and Captain Smith, too.
In the days leading up to April 15, 1912 "I was talking with people on both coasts and I was getting the same prediction from Team White Star that I was getting from Team Harland and Wolff which was that the Titanic would end up with more than a few records in her maidan crossing," CNBC anchor and New York Times columnist John Harwood said."

This is the story of election night 2016 in the words of more than 20 journalists who were in the field, in the newsrooms, at the anchor desks, and in the control rooms. The story of how Donald Trump's stunning win was covered in real time.

worth a read

Interesting read, though it paints journalits as being far less partisan than they are.

Interesting that you would post that. I was killing some time yesterday and youtubed the election coverage of abc, nbc, and cbs. At around 1:30am est all "journalists" are trying to cover up ther meltdown modes. You can fast forward from the start of coverage to where they called the race. Funny as hell.

AIR, he crashed several (5?) planes, not counting the one shot down.

His political connections back then seem to have protected him. How many generations of navy flag officers?

FCA, the U.S. automaker of Fiat-Chrysler, announced on Sunday that it would invest a total $1 billion in plants in Michigan and Ohio, and will add 2000 new jobs in the United States.

The move "is a continuation of the efforts already underway to increase production capacity in the U.S. on trucks and SUVs to match demand," the company said, adding that it would help solidify the U.S. as "a global manufacturing hub."

Doesn't Sharpton have a "yuge" unpaid tax bill? Hmmm, I wonder what the new president might have the IRS do if old Al gets to be a nuisance.

McCain was too much of a coward to fight to the death rather than be taken prisoner and put in a situation where he could potentially give away classified information during interrogation (wouldn't surprise me if he sung like a bird the first minute he was questioned).

On another note.. I seriously wish the press could move beyond discussion of "Russian Hacking." I've said it and I think others have too, even in the extreme case that Russia directly hacked voting machines and gave Trump the lead in battleground states, I would still not care as the candidate I was backing was the one they put in the white house. Trump looks weak by folding on this issue when he accepted the Intelligence Community's assessment about Russia's involvement in the election. Hopefully this story is false: http://www.reuters.com/article...-cyber-idUSKBN14S0O6

Oh, please. He could have gotten an IMMEDIATE pardon any time he wanted to, because his father was Commander of the Pacific Fleet (the Navy command involved with Vietnam). He refused, unless they sent home all the POWs that were there before him first. He therefore suffered years of torture when he just had to say the word at any time to get them to quit. Many people would have taken that option, just to escape the constant torture and lack of medical care.

I haven't seen ANYTHING that would tarnish his wartime service (and he wouldn't be the first pilot who cracked up a plane or two - Jimmy Doolittle was an EXCELLENT pilot, and he crashed several times - once while chasing a flock of ducks). McCain is a genuine war hero.

HOWEVER, as a politician, he is a real POS and needs to step down and let a REAL conservative take that seat he's wasting. Just watch - he will run to the press this next 4 years, desperate for them to like him. That's what he did when Bush was president. The msm LOVED mccain; because he wasn't a conservative at all.

Is your assertion that anyone who gets captured is a coward? You know sometimes people in plane crashes are, you know, hurt.

I advise we just drop this line of inquiry. It'll only serve to divide us. McCain is an idiot who should have retired long ago, however.... There's no value in mocking his years of torture by the VC. Focus on the man's more recent mistakes, you'll have plenty to work with.

Fair enough... It's just my hatred for McCain that makes me see anything he's done past or present in a negative light. I have respect for all other crash survivors except for Gary Powers.

Some important confirmation hearings in the Senate this week.

Jeff Sessions (AG)
Rex Tillerson (State)
Betsy DeVos (Education)
James Mattis (Defense)
John Kelly (DHS)
Elaine Chao (Transportation)
Mike Pompeo (CIA)
Ben Carson (HUD)
Wilbur Ross (Commerce)

First one is Jeff Sessions tomorrow.

Let's see how far the DEMs push their tired old racist line of crap.

For Tillerson, it will be important how far McCain and Lindsey Graham put on their "Russian" show that they seem to be enjoying so much.

First one is tomorrow for AG.

Sounds like Schumer plans to be as big an ass as Harry Reid was.

Schumer on working w Trump:

"The only way we're going to work with him is if he moves completely in our direction and abandons his Republican colleagues .

Ninety, 95 percent of the time, we'll be holding his feet to the fire and holding him accountable. But we're Democrats. We're not going to just oppose things to oppose them."

I admire them. They are completely wrong. They are anti American. But they are driven, bold and unified. Those spineless Republicans are worse because their cowardice is equally destructive.
