wishing we were congress |
https://www.washingtonpost.com..._story.html#comments That dream started to unravel about 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, when roughly half the states had voted and results showed a Trump lead that Clinton’s confident, data-driven campaign had not foreseen. Clinton’s second unsuccessful run for the White House relied heavily on a complex computer algorithm that the campaign was prepared to publicly unveil after the election. by 9 p.m., the early warning signs had become dire. Virginia, a state that they thought would be an easy win, was looking like a squeaker. Florida had begun to appear out of reach. And Trump’s victories in Iowa and Ohio, which were expected, became the leading edge of a Trump wave that swamped Clinton. One by one, Clinton aides began disappearing from the main hall and not answering their phones. They retreated to a nearby war room, which was cordoned off and guarded, and never returned. The mood outside the room turned from confusion to disbelief, anger and dejection. Eventually it was only Clinton, her family and the closest advisers, including Huma Abedin and Cheryl Mills, making the decision first to put off a concession speech and then to concede by phone. Clinton did not dwell Wednesday on what other friends said was an agonizing reckoning in that hotel room, but the mood was akin to the funeral for a sudden death — shocking, mystifying and starkly real. It was clear that no one — not Clinton, not her husband, not her supporters, not the core team of her campaign — had seen it coming. Among nonwhite voters, Clinton led Trump by 54 points — a whopping advantage but less than Obama’s 61-point lead four years ago. While her reliance on analytics became well known, the particulars were kept hush-hush, including the existence of a powerful computer algorithm nicknamed “Ada” after a 19th-century female mathematician. According to aides, the algorithm operated on a separate server than the rest of the Clinton operation as a security precaution , and only a few senior aides had access Ada ran 400,000 simulations a day of what the race against Trump might look like. It spat out a report giving campaign manager Robby Mook and others a detailed picture of which battleground states were most likely to tip the race in one direction or another — and guiding decisions about where to spend time and deploy resources. But was it the right guidance? It appears that the importance of some states Clinton would lose — including Michigan and Wisconsin — never became fully apparent or that it was too late once it did. Clinton made several visits to Michigan during the general election, but it wasn’t until the final days that she, Obama and her husband made a concerted effort. As for Wisconsin, Clinton didn’t make any general-election appearances there at all. Clinton herself went into a shell and avoided the public as much as possible

Shit if they're breaking into tears now, imagine their reaction when congress modifies the ROEs allowing easier firing of the incompetent and activist lefties sucking the government tit in so many agencies. Speaking of which I want to see a list of the agencies who are not going to exist in a couple years! Obama at the DNC ( July 2016 ) "I think it’s fair to say, this is not your typical election. It’s not just a choice between parties or policies; the usual debates between left and right. This is a more fundamental choice — about who we are as a people, and whether we stay true to this great American experiment in self-government." Jen Psaki (White House communications director) now : "An election is a comparison between two people and two candidates on the ballot. It’s not an evaluation of who we are as a society." http://www.powerlineblog.com/a...efining-election.php I'm pretty sure we are staying true

Just one of countless examples: I want to scream at someone! ► 6.4/93.6 “Most men … can seldom accept the simplest and most obvious truth if it … would oblige them to admit the falsity of conclusions … which they have woven, thread by thread, into the fabrics of their lives.” — Leo Tolstoy

A couple of weeks ago, I went back and skimmed through the first 20-25 pages of this thread. It was damned fascinating. The transformation of this forum in regards to Trump over the last 16 months really shows how amazing of a thing he pulled off. Huzzah Gentlemen! I couldn't stay up Tuesday to watch. I just couldn't. I went to bed early. I woke a little after 3am Wednesday and struggled for about 30 seconds before succumbing to my phone to get an update. I shook my wife and told her the news. I then came here to watch this thread. Congrats fellow Deplorables. Many of you have shared your feelings of relief. The past eight years have been hard on a lot of people, my family included. I'd like to share with you something I wrote sometime after 5am Wednesday that sums my feelings well. "This morning I go to wake my son. My son who has innate abilities in math and science. My son who in a few years will be able to write his own ticket to any University he wishes. My son who aspires instead to become a Welder by trade, to enable him to build for the needy, the poor, the destitute. Today I wake him to a brighter future." Thanks everyone for fighting the good fight. Thanks to Para for providing this place. We celebrate now. And then we roll up our sleeves and get to work. The changes we are going to insist upon will make the current nightmare the libs are going through look like babytown frolicks. THIS is going to be fundamental change. I have the heart of a lion.......and a lifetime ban from the Toronto Zoo.- Unknown
