Won’t impact me at all. I drink the stuff they stock in the break room at work, Tully’s French and Italian roasts. It’s the only time I drink coffee. Razz

We just received a couple weeks ago several pallets of Caribou fall blend Pumpkin Spice. It sells extremely well and we could always sell more than what they allocate to us. Reindeer holiday blend is usually not far behind. Another extremely good seller. A little inside info. Caribou has about a 9 month shelf date on it. Peet’s is 90 days. No particular reason that I know of they are both packaged and vacuum sealed the same way. I think it’s kind of a calling card marketing thing for Peets. None the less they are both top shelf coffee products. Starbucks use to really give us a run for the money in our area and they made some public gaffes most of us here have heard about that hurt them. I’d say Cameron’s is our biggest competitor now.

I have a box of each on hand from last season; they'll be opened up at the 90 day mark to Christmas. Right about the time fresh stock arrives. Smile

We use the Kirkland brand of K-Cups. They just went on sale at Costco, six bucks off per carton. I'll stock up.

It's possible, but I really can't remember when I've been steered wrong by Sigforum members. Reading this thread led to two different coffee purchases in the last two days. I ordered a 12 pack of K-pods of Cameron's Blue Mountain blend (mildly disappointed to read the label today when it arrived and see it's 5% Blue Mountain coffee, but whatever Roll Eyes) and tonight, I wandered down the coffee aisle at Fred Meyer's and bought a pound of Peet's Major Dickason's Blend whole beans. I'll try the Major Dickason's tomorrow morning and the K-pots at work, since all we have is a Keurig. If I like the Blue Mountain blend, I'll buy a pound and make a thermos full in the morning before I head to work. Can't justify the cost of the real deal 100%, so I guess I'll settle for blends... for now.

Why Blue Mountain? My wife and I went to Jamaica for our honeymoon and one of my most treasured memories is sitting in a comfy chair on a covered porch on a peak in the Blue Mountains watching the sun rise and sipping the finest cup of coffee I've ever had in my life, by long and far. They were beans picked from that peak, which we watched them roast and grind and prepare right on the spot. I had two cups. Never before had I drank that much coffee before in one sitting my life. It was that good.

I'll be that guy.

I've tried Peets Major Dickason's whole beans before and it was just okay, so I was not a repeat buyer.

My favorite has been Costa Rica Tarrazu although the last few years the harvests haven't yielded the exceptional beans I've enjoyed in the past.

I have a subscription to a local roaster who is a transplant from Perth Australia. https://essenceofcoffee.com/
I get different coffees of the world periodically with this subscription and most have proved to be quite enjoyable. I augment them with their house blend or any number of beans from other sources I feel compelled to try.

I started to roast green coffee beans a few years ago, never going back. Huge difference in quality. Have lots of beans, can roast what I want, Colombian, Brazilian, Costa Rica, Honduran, Yemen, Indonesia, African, etc. Coffee is such a global crop, lots of great beans to be found and enjoyed. Prices may have gone up, but buying green beans in bulk will insulate one from major increases.

Can confirm. Didn't really blow my shorts off. My wife took one whiff of the bag and said "you bought this?" Oh well. Maybe I'll leave the bag on the breakroom table at work.

My wife and I also went to Jamaica and I had the same experience with Blue Mountain. I've never enjoyed coffee nearly as much in my life. I can't bring myself to pay for the real deal here but some friends brought some back for me a couple years ago.

Did you guys do the bike tour? What an experience. Yeah, we brought back a couple pounds of it and I immediately had my wife freeze it, against her recommendation (I didn't, and still don't know much about coffee), and I had her check and she just used up the last of it a few months ago. It was 11 years old, so it probably was a pale shadow of what it was, but oh well. It was about half the cost of what it goes for here in the US, and the stuff here isn't as fresh, doesn't taste as good. If I were wealthy, I'd fly into Mobay a couple times a year and buy it locally. Big Grin

I'm gonna give the Major Dickason's to a coworker. I just had another cup to make sure, and this ain't my thing.
