No we shouldn't. What we should do is demand that any bill be limited to the specific topic at hand, and end this nonsense of passing bills that cover 5,000 topics each.

I'll go a step further and propose that bills be limited to font size, lines, and pages so that the average American can read and comprehend them.

Line item veto. Too bad it’s still not around.

In an ideal world, yup, that would be nice. It's never, ever, going to happen. If we're going to have bills with all kinds of irrelevant stuff than I want our stuff also. What incentive do the libs have to stop loading up bills if they are able to do it without giving up anything?

Besides, national CCW reciprocity is more relevant to COVID-19 response than shoveling money at the Kennedy Center for the Arts.

The late Jack Welch, "Neutron" Jack, as the former CEO of General Electric was known (back in its heyday; I've watched my shares in the company go completely into the tank) was the boss of one of my teachers back when I was studying for my MBA. I recall him saying that if you wanted to make a proposal to Welch, you had to be able to present it to him on ONE sheet of paper. Single-sided.

If you were an executive V. P., you might be able to use two.

It's a pity we can't have leadership on Capitol Hill like that.

Forgive me, but 'trend' my ass. So one NPR station (an organization that is funded by the government) opts out of the carrying the briefings. Who cares. 'No' large media group is going to stop carrying the president's briefings. Not one. TDS is rampant, but so is a lust for profits which the president's briefings contribute to through ratings. All of these corrupt, complicit, unethical, organizations are doing nothing more than talking out their asses on this topic. Ignore them all.

And any bill should include a sunset date. The virus will be temporary and so should any bills designed to address it.

How long do we get to pay back the 'stimulus' money? Tax it at 100% on next years return?

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."

So, you think he'll volunteer to get the same treatment as "poor" New Yorker's, tent hospital or whatnot?

Methinks not.

The entire thing is pork. Not happy with Trump on this one. Also on the last one why do big corporations get a handout but small businesses get loans? Am i misunderstanding it? It said billions go to SBA to give loans.

My understanding is that the SBA loans are administered through local banks, and are convertible to grants if the small business maintains specific staffing(read employment) guidelines. In other words, if they use the loans to pay employees, the loans become grants. Not that that is much better from a .gov spending standpoint, but it's better from a keeping small businesses operating standpoint.
