How many vulnerable dems are there? They will be on record voting not to acquit. And it's not a mid-term. More people will show up at the polls. Tony. Owner, TonyBen, LLC, Type-07 FFL www.tonybenm14.com (Site under construction). e-mail: tonyben@tonybenm14.com

I sent the following email to Senator Romney this afternoon: I realize it is often difficult to find a candidate who is absolutely perfect and without fault and President Trump is no exception. However if the people on the opposite side of the aisle were examined they would fall far shorter of good qualities than he does. As a voter, my choice is often a matter of selecting the lesser of two evils. I think the good he has accomplished in office far exceeds that of his predecessor. I supported you in your run for The Presidency in 2012 and certainly voted for you in that election. Based on your vote today in the impeachment hearings that is a mistake I will not make again. Respectfully, Gene Hillman

The vote's over and this question is now moot but I was just catching up on the last 3 pages and reading the questions about breaking a tie. I was in the shower and I thought I heard on the radio this morning that it wasn't a matter of breaking a tie. A tie means the resolution does not pass. Stevens nor Pence would ever have decided anything. Greater than 50% was needed to pass the resolution. Is that not correct? Year V

Mitt Romney is a piece of shit. And Utah, and the rest of the country, has to deal with this asshole for another 5 years. Although I'm ashamed, I must admit that I was watching MSNBC earlier while Fox was letting Juan Williams speak. Brian Williams delivered the funniest line I heard in a very long time. It was during the break prior to the witness vote. They had a split screen showing the chamber filled with people milling around. When the Chief Justice sat down, everyone rushed off in a different direction. Brian Williams said something like "there's some activity now, their scattering like it's a Raid commercial". If you happened to see it live, it was hysterical. It's was funny on it's own but if you imagine his insider's contempt for these people, it's just hysterical.

I read reports that said a 50-50 tie might be handled 1 of 2 ways #1 the motion would be declared to not have passed or #2 there is some historical precedence where the presiding judge (John Roberts) could break the tie one way or another Let's be glad we didn't have to find out if #2 was possible xxxxxxxxxxxx whoa John Roberts told Schumer he wouldn't break tie https://twitter.com/i/status/1223403224348209216 Well said by Roberts xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx McConnell *draft* resolution: —"The record in this case shall be closed" —"No motion...reopening the record shall be in order" Schedule —Monday 11:00: 2 hours each for closing arguments —Tues: recess (SOTU?) —Wed 16:00: final vote, "without intervening action or debate" the Tuesday is recess of the Court of Impeachment. So this is likely when the Senate will give every Senator their 10 mins of floor time from Undercover Huber twitter

It's not a lost cause. But Republicans are more vulnerable. 2020 Senate Election Interactive Map https://www.270towin.com/2020-senate-election/ "Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible." -- Justice Janice Rogers Brown "The United States government is the largest criminal enterprise on earth." -rduckwor

Just saw the funniest video. I can’t find it on YouTube yet. Whatever bill Trump signed today, he had a massive box of pens from which he started handing out fistfuls of pens to the people around him.

This compact is legally non-binding. If Trump (or any Republican) were to win the popular vote but lose the electoral college, then the commy states legislatures would simply withdraw from the compact and throw their electoral votes to the Dem candidate. In Bush v Gore, the USSC noted that state legislatures have plenary power over choosing electors. In other words, just as no previous Congress can bind a future Congress, no previous state legislature can bind a future legislature in this matter. But, IANAL. God Bless and Protect the Once and Future President, Donald John Trump.

a repost, but this seems important Chief Justice John Roberts made crystal clear tonight that he has no intention of intervening in the Senate impeachment trial of President Trump by casting a tie-breaking vote. Speculation had mounted during the trial whether Roberts would act, as Democrats hoped the chief could help them force the Republican majority to allow witnesses to be called. A chief justice had previously settled Senate ties in an impeachment trial — back in 1868 — Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, a New York Democrat, noted. But when asked directly about whether he would get involved, Roberts said he would not. Here's the exchange: Schumer: "Is the chief justice aware that in the impeachment trial of President Johnson, Chief Justice Chase, as presiding officer, cast tie-breaking votes on both March 31 and April 2, 1868?" Roberts: "I am, Mr. Leader. The one concerned a motion to adjourn; the other concerned a motion to close deliberations. I do not regard those isolated episodes 150 years ago as sufficient to support a general authority to break ties. If the members of this body elected by the people and accountable to them divide equally on a motion, the normal rule is that the motion fails. I think it would be inappropriate for me, an unelected official from a different branch of government, to assert the power to change that result so that the motion would succeed."

I hope Trump tells Pelosi to fuck off and that he’s going to do the state of the union either from a massive rally or from the oval office the day after he is acquitted and not before. Schumer is such a vile piece of filth, playing games so President Trump is still in the Senate trial during the SOTU.

+ 100% I've been steaming today after hearing he voted with the Dems. On the other hand, I've been delighted with Schiff. He's probably done more than any other single individual to ensure Trump's reelection. He should be made an honorary member of Trump's campaign staff. _____________________________________________________________________ “One of the common failings among honorable people is a failure to appreciate how thoroughly dishonorable some other people can be, and how dangerous it is to trust them.” – Thomas Sowell

https://theconservativetreehou...-a-hoax/#more-182411 HPSCI Ranking Member Devin Nunes brings an uncomfortable dose of reality to a media discussion and he’s exactly correct. Appearing on Tucker Carlson Mr. Nunes highlights that a vote to acquit on the impeachment articles will not be the end of this fiasco. The Crossfire Hurricane hoax was constructed with an insurance policy to initiate the Mueller investigation, another hoax. This same network of political operatives, all of which know each-other and work together in various government factions, then morphed the Mueller hoax into the Ukraine hoax; it’s one long continuum and it will not stop with a Senate impeachment acquittal Additionally, on the Democrat presidential contest Nunes now predicts the movement for Bernie Sanders is going to succeed and gain the nomination.
