In Texas we are not allowed to have any recording devices within 100 feet of the polling place. Could just be me, but my voting experience was very tense. It felt a like the "No Soup For You" episodes. Like you'd get kicked out of line for any minor infraction of the rigidly enforced (stupid) rules.

No phones, no t-shirts or hats of any kind that had political messages. The poll workers were very rude and short tempered walking the line barking terse instructions to "PUT YOUR PHONES AWAY!"

I felt like everybody was kind of on edge. Sure feels like a lot of anxiety. Not a happy "I'm so glad to vote" thing this cycle.

I think we're going to win, but it's close.

I see you're in Round Rock. Are you close enough to Austin for that to now be a blue area?

You can't use your phone while waiting in line in Texas? That's just stupid.

I thought Texas was a free state but you all some some really restrictive stuff.

fwbulldog, that sucks.

Here in Tarrant County, by the time the doors opened at 7am, there were 150 people in line, and some were on their phones, but put them away when they entered the voting room. I wore a Rush Limbaugh hat, my usual hat for voting, and was not hassled, somebody else had a Let's Go Brandon shirt, no issues. The poll workers, mostly older people who have been doing this for years, wore red clothing and U.S. flag attire. They were happy, friendly, and broke out in applause when they came acorss a first-time voter.

That's nuts. Totally different vibes at the polling place I went to today. Everyone was relaxed and pleasant. Lots of MAGA shirts and hats. The ladies working there were pleasant. It was in a church.

I'm glad that Rogan has endorsed Trump. But he did it on Monday, yesterday.

Better late than never, but what in Hell has he been thinking the past month? He would likely have had a much bigger effect if he had endorsed a month ago.

As we head into the early evening, anticipating results, a reminder to everyone here to Be. COOL.

We're going to maintain an even strain. We're not going to get ahead of ourselves. We're not going to anticipate disaster. If we're assured of winning, the party starts. If defeat shows itself, we're going to maintain our composure, and woe unto the member(s) who declare that it's the end of the world or the end of the United States. If you haven't yet done so, read the first post in the link I provided.

Exit Polls Results Are In. Here's How Things Are Looking.

https://townhall.com/tipsheet/...-exit-polls-n2647303

We have the first exits for the 2024 race, and one thing is clear: people are angry. Seventy-two percent of voters are angry or dissatisfied with the country's state. Only 41 percent of voters approve of Joe Biden’s job performance:

Again, there is not much regarding crosstabs (yet) on women, working-class voters, union workers, and the like. However, that’s a strong headwind Kamala and the Democrats face if nearly three-fourths of the country thinks the nation is in the toilet. In October, CNN’s Harry Enten warned that no incumbent party has ever kept the White House when the country's direction is that low.

Over at the Associated Press, immigration and the economy reign supreme in voters' minds.

Voters said the economy and immigration are the top issues facing the country. Still, the future of democracy was also a leading motivator for many Americans casting a ballot in Tuesday’s presidential election.

AP VoteCast, an expansive survey of more than 110,000 voters nationwide, found a country mired in negativity and desperate for change as Americans faced a stark choice between former President Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris.

Trump, the Republican, sought to define the election as a referendum on the Biden-Harris administration and blamed it for inflation and illegal crossings at the U.S. border with Mexico. Harris, the Democrat, tried to brand herself as being more focused on the future and described Trump as old, tired and a threat to the Constitution.

About 4 in 10 voters considered the economy and jobs to be the most important problem facing the country, as frustration with inflation spiking in 2022 lingered in the form of higher grocery, housing and gasoline costs. Roughly 2 in 10 voters said the top issue is immigration, and about 1 in 10 picked abortion.

[…]

What unified the country was a sense that the status quo hasn’t been working. About 8 in 10 voters want at least “substantial change” in how the country is run, including about one-quarter who said they want complete and total upheaval. But what that change would look like is a source of dissent and division

These aren’t the numbers you want to see as a Democrat right now. Of course, the 'democracy' people are Kamala supporters because they're from Pluto, not planet Earth.

To be fair to him, perhaps he didn't want to throw out the endorsement until he was certain Kamala wouldn't be on his show.

Well, if my thinking is correct - polls are beginning to close on the East Coast but the states cannot report numbers until West Coast polls close.

Any bets phone calls are being made at this moment to share the results with one or both candidates?

nvm - looks like numbers are already being reported?
