Reinke had been traveling to multiple national parks over the last week.

On July 28, he was arrested by rangers in Grand Teton National Park on a drunk and disorderly conduct incident. He spent the night in the Teton County Jail, and was then released on bond.

Reinke then traveled to Yellowstone National Park where rangers stopped his vehicle for a traffic violation on Tuesday. He was a passenger, appeared intoxicated and argumentative, and was cited for failure to wear belt.

Park officials believe Reinke encountered the bison in Hayden Valley soon after that.

Yellowstone rangers received several wildlife harassment reports from concerned visitors. They found Reinke later that evening and issued a citation requiring a court appearance.

The video of the event surfaced after that citation had been issued.Thursday, and rangers connected Reinke’s extensive history.

Klaassen requested Reinke's bond be revoked, the court granted the request and issued the arrest warrant.

Reinke earlier had told rangers that his plans were to travel to Glacier National Park.

Thursday night, Glacier National Park rangers began looking for his vehicle.

Meanwhile, rangers responded to the Many Glacier Hotel because two guests were arguing and creating a disturbance in the hotel dining room. Rangers identified one of the individuals involved as Reinke.

Glacier rangers took Reinke to Helena where they met Yellowstone rangers, who took him to Mammoth Hot Springs and booked him into the Yellowstone Jail.

What a tool. Sounds like he will have some time in jail to work on his drinking problem. Too bad that bison didn’t maim him. Stupid should hurt sometimes.

A few summers ago we did a family trip to Grand Teton and Yellowstone Parks. At a Visitor center in Teton, a ranger told a story of seeing some college boys roll up slow to a bison ( in case you have never been to these parks, the bison are free range and can and will block the roads, they have the right of way) anyway said youths rolled up and spanked a bison on the rear and the bison promptly head butted the compact car the were in, crushing the rear quarter panel and door and breaking some glass. Rangers estimate was that it wasn’t going to be cheap to fix. He said he didn’t give them a ticket since the car damage was going to be more than a ticket.

We visit Glacier NP several times a year as we are close by, 2.5 hours away. And have a friends Cabin in Baab for overnighting, when we hike.

Years back silly antics by visitors were fairly rare....Now they are commonplace.

Now it seems EVERY trip you see something ranging from plain stupid to dangerous. Idiots hiking TOWARDS grizzlies with cubs. Or trying to get so close to moose or deer to get that selfie.

I'd like to see the Park Service give their Officers plain jane vehicles and allow them to go "plain clothes". All they'd have to do is run Going to the Sun Road and watch the people being idiots. Write citations and along with the cite, kick them out of the Park at the same time. This IS fixable.

I say we invite him back to play his game during the rut, (Rutt?)

While the awesome Glacier Park Rangers were taking him away to jail, they overheard his dad saying "Bison."

He was cited as a passenger for failure to wear a seatbelt. It is believed that after that traffic stop, Reinke encountered the bison.
Yellowstone rangers received several wildlife harassment reports from concerned visitors and found Reinke later that evening, issuing a citation requiring a court appearance. A video of the event surfaced after that citation had been issued.
On Thursday, August 2, Yellowstone rangers connected Reinke’s extensive history, and seeing the egregious nature of the wildlife violation, the Assistant U.S. Attorney requested his bond be revoked. The request was granted and on the night of August 2, a warrant was issued for Reinke’s arrest.
Reinke had told rangers that his plans were to travel to Glacier National Park. Last night, August 2, Glacier National Park rangers began looking for his vehicle. Simultaneous with that search, rangers responded to the Many Glacier Hotel because two guests were arguing and creating a disturbance in the hotel dining room. Rangers identified one of the individuals involved as Reinke.
Glacier rangers transported Reinke to Helena late last night, where they met Yellowstone rangers. Yellowstone rangers transported Reinke to Mammoth Hot Springs and booked him into the Yellowstone Jail. He is scheduled for a court appearance today.
