This is definitely one of the most entertaining threads I’ve ever read.

It started out as an experiment but I can no longer control it. It has grown far larger and more powerful than ever I could have imagined.

It is breaching the south wall of the lab and will soon be upon the world.

It swallows up people. Their posts in this thread disappear.

Obviously I found it more than annoying that folks would simply see "karma" and post their "wanting in" blindly without reading the thread, which is why I blasted a number of posters in the previous pages. The FNG who used his first post here for that was simply unbelievable. Frown

As an old fart I'm starting to wonder if this is just another indication of the wanting "free shit" culture that has grown so large.

Regardless I am disgusted by this "practice" of some on this great forum. The generosity of many members with their karma offerings deserves so much better.

But to be fair, Dave didn't say March 2018, 2019, 2020... For all we know, this could be an offer for 2099. But for those who read, he did pick a winner. But is that winner for 2018 or some other year?

What if Dave invented a time machine and this Karma was for 1988? Big Grin

If I say I want in after reading it, I gotta say, to be fair now, it doesnt say what YEAR. It couldve been for 2019, just a really early start. Like you run it, and after we all forget about it, he emails us from the blue, saying we won.

"The designer of the gun had clearly not been instructed to beat about the bush. 'Make it evil,' he'd been told. 'Make it totally clear that this gun has a right end and a wrong end. Make it totally clear to anyone standing at the wrong end that things are going badly for them. If that means sticking all sort of spikes and prongs and blackened bits all over it then so be it. This is not a gun for hanging over the fireplace or sticking in the umbrella stand, it is a gun for going out and making people miserable with." -Douglas Adams

The trouble with fighting for human freedom is that one spends most of one's time defending scoundrels. For it is against scoundrels that oppressive laws are first aimed, and oppression must be stopped at the beginning if it is to be stopped at all. -Mencken
