I post stuff about Baltimore because I grew up there. It used to be a solid blue collar city that was a bit rough around the edges, but a decent place to live and make a living. That was a long time ago.

After decades of DEM leadership this is what Baltimore has become:

https://www.breitbart.com/2nd-...-per-capita-in-2019/

Baltimore broke its annual per capita homicide record after reaching 342 killings Friday.

With just over 600,000 residents , the city hit a historically high homicide rate of about 57 per 100,000 people after recent relentless gunfire saw eight people shot — three fatally — in one day and nine others — one fatally — another day.

The new rate eclipses that of 1993, when the city had a record 353 killings but was much more populous before years of population exodus.

By contrast, New York City, with more than 8 million residents , had 306 homicides through Dec. 15.

The total is up from 309 in 2018 and matches the 342 killings tallied in 2017 and 2015, the year when the city’s homicide rate suddenly spiked.

It is pretty amazing.
As the population decreases, that rate will only increase.
But as the population decreases, the problems of Baltimore City spread to the surrounding County.
Places like Catonsville and Ellicott City used to be immune to the violence, but it's spreading.

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."

Like Chellim said, the mess in the City has spilled into Baltimore and Anne Arundel counties. It's only going to get worse and of course we here cannot carry to defend ourselves.

I did my undergrad at the University of Illinois at Chicago. Around 2003, I had a professor was who (is?) an assistant states attorney who said the killings would be even higher if it weren't for the improved 911 system and medical technology. I bet if they did a deep dive into those numbers and released total shootings and gave specifics such as races of those shot, areas, races of shooters caught; it would turn into a very politically incorrect release that would bring out every excuse ever written.

Who's the professor, I might know them. And he's absolutely right, medical advances in the past 10-15 years (thanks to trauma surgeons and the sharing of info between places like Baltimore, Detroit, Chicago and front line Dr's in Iraq and Afgan) have increased survival rates.

Here's the map of the city of Chicago, and how it voted-

Here's an interesting website that is pretty up to date and accurate. Included in the website, is a map of where all the shooting / homicides are occurring.

Things that make you go "Hmmmmm"

"MOST" of the shootings are a self cleaning oven, Just taking care of their own. But most of those bullets don't hit the intended target, and go through a front door, windows, fences and hit some poor 7 year old on Christmas, or a 7 year old out trick-or-treating on Halloween.

As far as Baltimore goes, they get what they deserve.
They voted for those idiots, and their sjw bullshit. They got their "room to destroy". They changed and lessened the Justice System. They made enemies with the police, and everyone that likes law and order.
Now they get to make friends with criminals.

I just don't want to hear any of their whining and bitching while they wallow in their homemade cesspool.

To quote the Captain in Cool Hand Luke:
"...you get what we had here last week, which is the way he wants it... well, he gets it."

Nana, per-capita, Baltimore has us BEAT!

342 for a little over 600,000 people in Baltimore.

Chicago is 508 for 2.4 million (ish). Chicago would have to have over 2000 murders to even come close.

The whole state of Arizona (Population of 7mil plus) had 441 homicides last year. Come on Baltimore, you can beat that record.

Subtle sarcasm will never have the slightest effect on the demands of those who want to eliminate our gun rights. We could have an absolute ban on the possession of any firearm in this country, and there would still be two responses to challenges to its effectiveness:

1. “Yes, crimes are still being committed with guns, but that’s because there are so many illegal weapons in circulation. Clearing them all out will take many, many years. That’s why the ban should have been enacted far earlier.”

2. “Yes, crimes are still being committed with guns, but the situation would be far worse without the ban. We must be thankful for what we have accomplished thus far.”

And when national restrictions are only partial, the response is, “Gun control laws in places like Baltimore are not effective at preventing gun violence because most places in the US don’t have such laws. Guns are easily obtained elsewhere and then brought into the city.”

Crowing about homicides in places like Baltimore that have stringent gun rights infringements does nothing for our side.

Robert Hovey taught that class. There was another ADA who taught a class, I think his first name was Jason but I forgot his last name.

Also had another professor, if I recall correctly, was a patrol officer on CPD but he was old even back in 2002. His name was Gene Scaramella. He was probably around 60 at that time.
