Going to clean up the BBQ grill that's been sitting neglected outside the past 2 years. Have not touched it in a long time, and hope it's not rusted out.
I would like to get back into grilling regularly like I used to do.

My wife is in the middle of studying for her CFP, so no huge summer plans.

We will have a long weekend in Squaw Valley stay at the Resort at Squaw Creek https://www.hyatt.com/en-US/ho...at-squaw-creek/rnodh

It’s a beautiful resort!

Retired but working a little while the wife assists with her elderly mom. If I were you in that part of the country I'd probably hit Southern Utah. Maybe one of the Big 5 National Parks.

What are we doing this summer?
I Retired in December, after 46 years making airplanes, since then I have 3 hours on my boat and 30 hours on my tractor.
Very wrong ratio…..

We have much to be thankful for, despite the mess of the last several years.

Thanks as always for the chance.

My wife and I have been considering a trip to Corpus Cristi this summer but at the moment I can also considering selling our house and moving into an apartment while waiting for the market to crash.

I have not sold a house before and it is daunting when considering all the logistics involved.

Dave,
Please include me.

This July my wife and I, her 2 brothers and their wives will all stay a week in a cabin (a very nice house, really) on the shores of Lake Michigan. We have done this every year for about 15 years now. We always stay in the St. Joseph / Coloma Michigan area. Its really great to be with the family (keep in mind that we all 62+) and watch the Lake, go swimming, drink home brewed beer and eat and eat. Oh, and the Sunsets are unbelievable! A lot of the fun is the planning for the meals. Everybody has a specialty and we all take turns cooking evening meals. We go into St. Joseph, walk around, see the shops, have ice cream and go look at the working carousel down by the lake shore. Some times our visit to St. Joseph (St. Joe, for those in the know) coincides with an art show and fair. St. Joseph is home to the Uptons of Upton Washing Machine fame, Fred, retiring US Congressman and Kate, super model wife of a certain ex-Tiger pitcher. The Upton Washing Machine company is known as Whirlpool today.

We will also drive a little north to Saugatuck, MI, also on the Lake Michigan shore and situated on a natural harbor on the Kalamazoo River. I have been going to Saugatuck in the summers since I was a small boy. These days we pack a picnic lunch, walk the town, visit the shops, walk the boat docks and marvel at the multi, multi thousand dollar floating palaces! Then we have our picnic lunch near the boat docks in Cook Park. In past trips we have visited South Haven, MI and Holland, MI.

But relaxing on the deck of the cabin on the shore of Lake Michigan, watching the boats go by and doing absolutely nothing else is pretty cool too.

I hope that you are able to do something fun with your family like this this summer too. I think everyone on SigForum would like to hear what you decide to do. I know I would enjoy hearing about your summer fun.

Thank you for your generosity.

Best regards,
Mark in Michigan

Doing something I do not recommend, sitting in hospital bed after surgery to remove my left prosthetic knee joint today. I have contracted a strep infection in both knees, first was removed April 21. I am now on 50% weight bearing due to ceramic antibiotic spacers in place. Also receiving antibiotic Infusion once every day for the next six weeks. If the infection is then gone I will have two more surgeries to replace with new prosthetics. Hopefully all surgery will be wrapped up in September and I will be in therapy.
DO NOT put this in your vacation plans. However a new watch would a wonderfully to mark the slowly passing time.
Thank you for the chance.

Teaching the wife about baseball.

Have access to a half season of ghe Padres and taking her to as many as she can stand.

Tonight she missed (she was in Central Valley visiting her kids) a perfect drag bunt for an infield single by the Mets.

We lost our FIL oct of 2020 in a boating accident. Never found him and got to deal with going through legal process of declaring him presumed dead.
Still, still dealing with all that mess, but there are glimmers of light in the distance….
MIL has been with us since last September, she will be going home to sell her home in AK, and I will be removing walls and building a suite in our home for her to be here 6 months of the year this summer.

Time is what I offer as a suggestion for you and your kids. Time. Read books, walk, go to the park, be involved….. Time just being together. Doesn’t have to always be an adventure, being present is the greatest present.
