Thank you. My intention was not to pigeonhole the Jews into one or the other, political or spiritual. I’m asking to see if there is, or can be, a distinction between the entities so that criticism of political Israel isn’t perceived as hatred toward Jews in general. It’s too simple to just call someone a nazi if they criticize the state of Israel or dislike some opportunistic schmuck that just happens to have been born a Jew. You’ve answered wisely because this isn’t a black or white issue. I find most of the rest of this thread irrational. |

I may need an example but yes. quote: For the same reason "Rabbinic Judaism" came to be, (the loss of the Temple and what Jews always do in such times, falling back to a systematic life with the Rabbis (learned men) being the leadership (much like a congress/parliament).
A similar thing happened to the "Church" when the original was scattered to the winds in both the early years of "evangelizing" and then the influence of governments and rulers over various peoples.
2000 years and what is seen today of the "Church System" is a far cry from the teachings of the very beginning.
