Basically the same. We had just moved to a new house and I was making whatever new friends I could before starting 5th grade.

I got to take an Uncle Sam’s Canoe Group trip there for some time around 93....and 94....Picking them up, burning their shit boats, killing their goats was a good time To help relive the stress, anD watching over them for days at a time, then uggggghhh, taking them back to Port o Prince...

I can only imagine how bad spending two weeks on the ground would have been.

I was in Army Basic Training at Ft Dix, NJ.

Overall, life seemed far less complex than today, though I don't long for them.

I was 18 years old still living with my parents about 30 minutes from where I live now. I was doing overnight armed security patrol in some really shady areas of town.

The plan for the wife and I is to move in with my mom in the same home here in the next few months so we can sell our home, build our dream home, have my mom sell her home, and she will move in with us as the new home will have a very nice mother-in-law suite.

This being the 25th of July, which was a Wednesday in 1990, and the middle of the last full week in July, there can be no doubt that I was in Oshkosh, WI, at the EAA Annual Convention.

I used to go every year, until life got in the way. Now I only make it every 5 years or so.

5 years in to my police career, and a detective for 2 years. I can't be sure, but this time of year (or maybe a little later) it's quite possible I, and my (ex) wife and 2 kids were on vacation in Cyprus, as my father had a condo in Paphos and we traveled there nearly every year.
