All ice skaters knew this with no need of scientists. And that lefties prefer clockwise.

“Whether you're pacing while on the phone or wandering around a park, chances are you're unconsciously turning in the same direction as almost everyone else.

That’s because scientists have discovered that humans have a natural tendency to move counterclockwise.

This surprising bias persists across different countries, age groups and even when people are walking completely alone.

And it suggests the instinctive desire to turn left is an innate feature of human movement rather than a learned behaviour. …”

Isn't the RH:LH ratio something like 1.7:1? It's ~4+:1 in kids baseball - 11.5:1.5 on our travel team. You're going to move based on your strong side.

Righties have glove on left, meaning you can cover more open space to your left vs right - so you shade right & probably make somewhat of a LH turn during feilding. Also, most motions require stepping with your off-foot (left foot for a righty). The shift in balance naturally pulls you left. My son is especially difficult because he does everything LH except throwing (the .5s above). It takes him a little longer to figure out footwork/body positioning. Glass-half-full is he's more aware & focuses on it so once he gets it, he does it well & consistently.
Basketball - Righties are (usually) better dribblers with their right hand, meaning you are shaded to the right of the court, making a left turn towards open space more likely.

Their next grant will be to study if water is wet, statistically speaking.

Yes, it’s well known that there are more righties than lefties. And that righties are more adept with their right hand. It’s less well known that righties are more adept at CCW turns.

I can't argue. On ice skates, motorcycles, and bicycles, turning left always seems more natural to me.

Surely it's more than that? I'd think 10 to 1 or more.

I bet you could show people circle with their dominant eye to the outside of the circle giving that eye the broadest view for threats.
