I'm all screwed up. I'm righty for everything except throwing. Sometime in my childhood I started throwing balls with my left hand. No idea why (perhaps I inherited my sister's baseball glove, she was lefty). I'm also left eye dominant so maybe that has something to do with it. But because of this I never threw very good. If I practice a lot I can throw okay with my right arm. When I played darts that was suggested to me and I got pretty good at that. But after 20 years and having the opportunity just the other night, I threw horribly, couldn't hardly hit the board.

I'm all mixed up and I hate it.

These go to eleven.

I am right handed. Play guitar, shoot and write right handed. However, when it comes to combat sports, I fight lefty with my hand side forward.

I throw like a girl left handed but pretty good as a righty so that is as close to zero as it gets.

I'm right handed. But when I worked with a ruler every day in a millwork shop, I learned to read it any way it happened to be turned, sideways, upside down, whatever. Quite often upside down, in fact, depending on which edge I started from. Smile

I'm basically right-handed as far as writing, but as far as working tools for work, they are pretty much equal. Much prefer shooting right-handed but have practiced left handed as much as possible.

That is hilarious to me. I asked a lefty at work why do all lefties hold their pens weird when they write and he showed me why and it resembled this picture.

Somehow I missed that and didn't learn about it until I was 50. I must be slow.

I’m almost exactly as left-handed as the OP, with one addition: I golf right-handed. And I golf well if I do say so myself. I am left-eye dominant, but something about golf makes playing it right-handed seem natural.

How Left-Handed Are You ?

In my work I do sometimes use my left hand to start small nuts or bolts in tight spaces where using my right would block the view or put my fingers in a bind. Otherwise, not very. I can operate the controls of and shoot a handgun at very close range passably in a pinch. A long gun is impossible because I am also right-eye dominant and all I see is the side of the gun. I can't write or swing a hammer left-handed either.

I catch left handed. I can only open my safe left handed. That’s about it.

Very, very left-handed. Left-eye dominant, as well.

I kick a soccer ball righty because I broke my left knee and couldn’t for almost a year (three casts plus surgery plus a brace for 3 months).

I taught myself to use a mouse right-handed so I mouse righty at work and lefty at home. Neither hand hurts as a result. It did take me months to become proficient, however.

I swing a golf club righty because my dad only had righty clubs - he was a lefty converted by teachers, so he wrote with his right hand, played basketball ambi, played baseball lefty and played golf righty.

All shooting is lefty, but please don’t swap the mag release - I’ve gotten used to using my middle finger to hit the mag release and a gun set up for a lefty is confusing.

I also do not hold my writing implement crook-handed. In general, I don’t smear ink or graphite because I turn the paper, just not my hand.

I'm by nature left handed but growing up in a right handed world required some adaptation.
Throw and catch - both hands. Ever had an impromptu baseball game? Guess what? Everyone with a spare glove is right handed.
Bat - switch hitter.
Shooting - Right hand.
Guitar - Right hand. It is my opinion though that it makes more sense to fret with the dominant hand.
Eating and writing - Left. I can do this right handed but much slower.

Its always interesting to talk with another lefty and share the experiences of being in the minority.

Left:

Write, throw, shoot pistol, shoot rifle, play guitar

Right:

Swing a bat or golf club, use mouse, kick (yeah, it's a foot, but still...)

Eye:

My eye dominance is screwy. Some tests say I am right eye dominant, but it's not real strong. It seems to follow the hand I am using.

I would gladly swing a bat or or golf club left handed if that meant I could shoot and play guitar right handed.

I was left handed unti second grade because my teacher made me switch. My father and my son are both lefties.

I was apparently born left handed but got trained out of it. I'm rather good at stuff considering I've been using my right for so long but when I've taken an injury I adapt pretty quickly back to it. I think I'd still prefer to write right handed so I don't smudge.

quite ambidextrous.

write with the left but learned to shoot handguns with the right hand being unable to find holsters and stuff for lefties on my neck of the woods. quite a shock fot my enemies while doing simunition exercises, my left hand is more accurate and requires no reload time Wink
for long guns i'm lefty and uncomfortable.
at the table i'm pretty much right handed.
mouse makes no difference.

I’m very left handed and left eye dominant. About the only thing I do right handed is use a mouse. But I wear my watch on my left hand.

Fwiw, my Grandfather was left handed, not sure about my father, then me, and my son is also left handed but right eye dominant.
