I have been watching Vivek since he burst onto the scene running for President. I only got the clips from the debate, as watching a stage full of people that will never be the nominees is mostly a waste of time. He was dead on in my opinion with what he stated last night. Of the group that was on stage last night, I would cast a vote for VR. I might pinch my nose and vote for two of the ‘milquetoast’ duds over Biden, but Nikki and Fat Chris will not ever get my vote.

My only wish, is that whoever gets in goes complete scorched earth on the entrenched bureaucracy and has the ability to codify changes through legislation and not just by executive order. Our country will not survive if we continue to stray from our founding principles.

yes... and Vivek is helping by going "scorched earth" in these debates.

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."

This is the most important point, without help from us in the ballot box and bringing the House and Senate for the whole Term this process that exists will continue to fail in changing DC.

Yes flip flopping the house or senate helps keep things in check to a point, but we need one term to clean up all the problems and clean out the problem people in government.

Otherwise it won't really matter who we put in, if they don't have the power of legislation vs EO's which can be deleted when the next POTUS comes in...

Anything can still happen, include DJT somehow not becoming the nominee even though he is a shoo-in right now.

So it is valuable to have other candidates out in public where we can see what they're made of. Not a waste of time.

Trump is a different story. He is older and much wiser than this guy. I will vote for Trump but never this guy. BTW I did not like Don Rickles either. There are similarities.

Obnoxious little pricks are doers, I refer you to Donald J Trump. I like renegades, the movers and shakers, that's exactly what we need.

So basically, if VR is nominated then, no vote,

That is a +1 for the D candidate, be it Biden, Newsome, Granholm.. that action in effect supports the D party agenda in abstention....

When will we get the R party voters to see that there will never, ever be a perfect candidate, and to put aside some small issues or flaws to achieve a goal of changing the way DC runs.

Heck Trump is far from perfect, and we have the press, local governments, the internet social networks against us, we don't need to be helping them with the "take my ball and go home" attitude.

I guess she doesn't have a counter argument that under her chairmanship, the Republicans lost 2018, 2020, and 2022. What the fuck has she been doing?

He speaks the truth

He calls out the quisling republicans

What’s not to like?

If most republicans were like him, there would be no democrat party that could win.

Bottom line for me is personality aside, who is best for the country? So sone who wants change or someone protecting the status quo

Huh? I do not believe I ever said that. As the Babylon Bee states he is the front runner in a list of candidates that will never be President. He will never be nominated.

Like Trump, he is pissing off the right people, and I'm sure he is not ignorant of this fact.

Trump on Ramaswamy:
quote:
Well, I think he’s great. Look, anybody that said I’m the best president in a generation … I have to like a guy like that,” Trump said, a reference to Ramaswamy’s comments during last week’s GOP debate that Trump was the best president of his lifetime.
“He’s a smart guy. He’s a young guy. He’s got a lot of talent. He’s a very, very, very intelligent person,” Trump continued. “He’s got good energy, and he could be in some form of something. I tell ya, I think he’d be very good. I think he’s really distinguished himself.”

I too love it when someone with a spine calls out GOPe types. The me of the early 2000’s would have considered the string of losses under Ronna’s stewardship as proof that she is a hack out of her depth.

The me of post 2012 understands that Ronna is definitely not a hack. She is very skilled at appearing to be interested in general Republican victory but always falling short. I understand with Ronna and McConnell the underperformance is deliberate.

Once again, you fail to grasp what is occurring. Ramaswamy made some pointed remarks last night, which would not have come from anyone else on that stage. He called out the biased news media for their bias and years-long campaign against Trump with the Russia Collusion hoax, but most importantly, he called out Ronna McDaniel, chairman of the RNC, for her utter, absolute failure in her role.

If you look around on social media tonight, you see her name being bandied about in an unkind way, and there are now open calls for her to resign. It may very well be that her days are numbered, and if so, Vivek Ramaswamy will have played a key role in her downfall.

Also, he rattled Haley and made her lose her cool. He called her out for the warmonger she is, and as a boardroom component of the Military Industrial Complex. The timing couldn't be worse for her, as the press has been propping her up as a rising star. Well, tonight, her star isn't rising. Once again, we can thank Ramaswamy for this.

Would you do me a favor and put away this pettiness of calling the man names and comparing him to whomever it is in your past that got your goat? Would you try, please, to grasp what is happening right now in the arena in question?

You are (or were) a mental healthcare professional, yes? I should expect a greater degree of objectivity from you, as well as a trained ability to listen to people and to make a genuine effort to see circumstances as they actually exist.

Please try to make such an effort in these matters.

No one in this conversation is saying that he has much chance, if any, of being POTUS. Please try to understand what is being discussed.

Yes, and Ramaswamy was asked at that time about accepting the VP position, and that's when he said he is running for POTUS and nothing else.

However, as we all know, things like that can and sometimes do change, so...
