I made the mistake of watching the wrong channel. They didn't show the launch but it flying through the atmosphere and didn't show the landing. The played the audio from launch command and that was totally out of sync with the blast off. Next time I'll just go to spacex.com Situation awareness is defined as a continuous extraction of environmental information, integration of this information with previous knowledge to form a coherent mental picture in directing further perception and anticipating future events. Simply put, situational awareness mean knowing what is going on around you.

Anyone else old enough to flashback to Col. John Shorty Powers in the last minute before liftoff? That launch and the camera shots were so cool. The ability to fly the primary booster stage back to Earth and land it was one of the many incredible things about that launch. _______________________________________________________ despite them

We watched NASA Live on YouTube. But the booster landing feed was cut off just before it landed. It was the direct feed from the barge. I guess others saw it somehow from a different source? ~Alan Acta Non Verba NRA Life Member (Patron) God, Family, Guns, Country Men will fight and die to protect women... because women protect everything else. ~Andrew Klavan

Damn I missed the landing. I was really looking forward to seeing that.

Great launch, and landing on Boaty McBoatface's drone ship cousin. Bob and Doug's Excellent Adventure. Take Off, eh.

That's what we saw, too, a brief cut before landing. Unfortunately.

We were watching the “Discovery Channel.” At liftoff some weird organ music started and drowned out the narration. Ticked, we switch and we’re fine. As for the landing, did anybody see it? The feed suddenly showed the booster on the barge and no explanation. “ The work of destruction is quick, easy and exhilarating; the work of creation is slow, laborious and dull.

Well done Elon. Skip to 10:55 for his vindication, or watch the whole video. He's owed a thank you/congrats. Link to original video: https://youtu.be/23GzpbNUyI4 Jesse Sic Semper Tyrannis

Yeah the SpaceX feed glitched before 1st stage landing, so I don't think anyone really saw it. At least we were watching it and didn't see it. Very common for the feed to go offline on the landing. Here is SpaceX feed, they didn't show the landing because the signal was offline. https://youtu.be/bIZsnKGV8TE There really is 'no other channel' to view it...

They have what, like 19 hours until dock? Awesome. Slightly off topic, but in 2012 I was flying from DFW to Dulles. General Yeager was on the flight in first class. After we took off the Captain recognized him and he put his hand up in a sort of wave. We all cheered. I about broke my neck leaning out of my isle looking up front. After the cheering died down the girl next to me said "who was that?" (she was like 25 maybe) and I said "Thats the guy who is going to land the plane if the pilot has a problem". She gave me a funny look. I settled into my seat knowing General Chuck Yeager was on my flight.

Damn straight he is. He could have taken his money and bought a professional sports team or used it to run for President. Instead he decided to try to push the human race forward.

Canadian astronaut Chris Hatfield .."No astronaut launches for space with their fingers crossed, that's not how we deal with risk". The falcon and Dragon capsule are magnitudes safer than the shuttle. Those Merlin engines are a beautiful sight. https://www.masterclass.com/cl...JrwtVOxoCLaAQAvD_BwE Anybody try yet? https://iss-sim.spacex.com/

I thought this was the greatest feat, landing on a barge in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean. It's a shame all the time, money and lives wasted on the space shuttle. For those who are wondering how relevant this is, remember the Wright Brothers' first flight was 12 seconds and covered 120 feet. Edit: I just watched the video and learned Elon is a naturalized U.S. citizen born in South Africa. So he couldn't run for President.

Big brass balls. Those boys have big brass balls. Imagine strapping ourself to a firecracker and telling the kid to light it. No ordinary firecracker, but one that never put humans out in space. Awesome. I need to buy my Speedy I've been saving for.

If I were strapped in that seat, I don't think I would be half as nervous as the people in the control center or the engineers who built the rocket. ~Alan Acta Non Verba NRA Life Member (Patron) God, Family, Guns, Country Men will fight and die to protect women... because women protect everything else. ~Andrew Klavan

Not very many people ever get to be the first crew on a brand new spacecraft and a new rocket. Yeah. Big brass ones

Don't know if this has been posted already, but I heard an interesting tidbit about the 2 astronauts - they are both members of the NASA class of 2000, and they each married another member of the class! All four of them have been in space.

Great clip of the astronauts. Kind of amazing them wearing polo shirts and kakis. Like they're just commuting to work. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XgY4NKoT9SQ Hopefully the start of great things. ____________________________________________________ The butcher with the sharpest knife has the warmest heart.
