The republicans are doing their very best to torpedo their chances in 2018 and 2020. They can no longer run on "vote for us, we'll repeal O care" and "vote for us to stop the left". They only thing they will be able to run on is success, and that is looking doubtful. What a bunch of frauds.

I posted this earlier in the thread. They can repeal the funding with 51 votes, but that would leave thousands and thousands of pages of regulations, and the contracts signed based on those regulations, in full effect. It would be a legal nightmare and a full on disaster to leave those regulations in effect...And that's before the CBO even weighs in with their 'projections' that 30 bazillion people will 'lose their healthcare' and eleventy million will likely die within weeks if you do a repeal with no replacement. Without a replacement ready to go I doubt the 'repeal' will get to 40 votes if he decides to bring it to the floor. Not trying to be doom and gloom here, just being realistic. I know everyone here just wants Obamacare erased from memory, but that would take 60 votes unless McConnell goes nuclear and changes Senate rules like they did for confirmations...Doing that would ensure things like single payer and massive gun control legislation the next time dems get in control. “Facts are stubborn things; and whatever may be our wishes, our inclinations, or the dictates of our passions, they cannot alter the state of facts and evidence.” - John Adams

Quoting myself from a prior page:
I HOPE this is still what is playing out. If, four months from now, we can look back and see that it happened this way, it will still be considered an incredible, almost diabolically ingenious, success. But I am very skeptical it will happen. "Crom is strong! If I die, I have to go before him, and he will ask me, 'What is the riddle of steel?' 3 have already come out and said they won't vote for a straight repeal and there are at least 4 or 5 others who are almost surely going to vote against it. “Facts are stubborn things; and whatever may be our wishes, our inclinations, or the dictates of our passions, they cannot alter the state of facts and evidence.” - John Adams

Murkowski, Collins, Capito ... That's enough to sink repeal. Take the vote anyway. Put them on record. Then primary them. December 03, 2015: WASHINGTON, D.C. — U.S. Sen. Shelley Moore Capito voted Friday for the Restoring Americans’ Healthcare Freedom Reconciliation Act, a bill that repeals Obamacare. So... in December, 2015 she was in favor of a repeal bill... but now, a year and a half later, she has discovered how wonderful Obamacare is? She needs to be primaried. Get her out. She lied to her constituents. "Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible." -- Justice Janice Rogers Brown "The United States government is the largest criminal enterprise on earth." -rduckwor

True, but her stated purpose was always to replace...er, "revisit" OCare. All she's saying (to her constituents, I guess) is that she's not satisfied with the "replacement" aspect in this bill. She's given herself an out, and she's taking that out. This isn't some sudden act of betrayal, this is just another mealy-mouthed twerp being a mealy-mouthed twerp - and we already knew that we have a mealy-mouthed twerp problem.

I hope Trump campaigns HARD against all of these traitorous fucks. They are no better than Schumer and all of the other dems. All they care about is keeping their privileged lifestyle. They outright LIED to get elected and need to GO.

That's fine, but this is long before the full repeal vote has even been scheduled. There's time for things to change, there's time for minds to change, and there's time for the voters to contact their senators and raise hell. To say it's DOA now, before the attempt has even begun to be made, is just mindless hand wringing.

Yep. These three leftist, feminist women... who call themselves Republican, are running the Senate. Try to change their minds, but do make them vote. Put them on record. Then primary them. Agreed, enough of the "we don't have the votes" poll process, put them on record, don't pass shidt, let it fail, hammer the D in the next election on the failure and replace those in the R party that didn't help solve the problem. http://www.nbcnews.com/politic...bill-failure-n784006 Trump: ‘Let Obamacare Fail…I’m Not Going to Own It’ by KRISTEN WELKER, ADAM EDELMAN and ALI VITALI SHARE WASHINGTON — President Donald Trump said Tuesday he would let Obamacare "fail" in the aftermath of his party's botched efforts to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act. "I think we're probably in that position where we'll let Obamacare fail," Trump said at the White House. "We're not going to own it. I'm not going to own it. I can tell you, the Republicans are not going to own it." Once Obamacare collapses, Trump said Democrats would join Republicans so Congress would be able to “come up with new plan, really good for people.” Trump wouldn't go so far as to call Republicans who opposed the Senate repeal and replace efforts "disloyal," but he did say he was "very surprised" when two GOP senators yanked their support for the health care bill on Monday night, effectively killing it.

LET IT FAIL! Seriously... it's failing. The insurers are pulling out... the exchanges are shutting down. What's the difference between just letting it fail and repeal? "Some things are apparent. Contracts between private individuals and insurance companies? Between insurance companies and private businesses? Night and Day, that's what. The absence of Republicans having to own the failing piece of shit, that's what. The idea that they/we will own it regardless, as Bama and others have put forth, is absurd. It's OBAMACare, and many many millions of Americans think it's great. Leave it alone, let it fail, and let them all see for themselves how it's anything but great - even when Republicans don't mess with it, THEN do something about it, and ONLY then. There is NO real upside much less a truly conservative one to fucking around with it now.

Simply put, one is doable, one is not. What the Repub's are too cowardly and stupid to grasp, they were going to own this mess regardless what they did or didn't do. The media and the Dem's (same group) were going to guarantee that outcome. Rather than go bold and actually try and solve at least a part of the problem, whereby supporting their constituents and having something to stand/run on, the Repub's/RINO's opted to cower and run proving themselves to be liars. Can you imagine what a cluster the Repub's version of tax reform is going to look like? ----------------------------- Guns are awesome because they shoot solid lead freedom. Murkowski, Collins, Capito ... These three leftist, feminist women... who call themselves Republican, are in favor of Obamacare. They want the regulations, they want the subsidies, they want the taxes. And when people don't sign up for it, because the "essential benefits package" is not something they need, or want or can afford.... the exchanges collapse because the people who are already sick are the only people who buy it. And then.... people can't buy insurance, because the market has been destroyed by Obamacare. Murkowski, Collins, Capito ... these three leftist, feminist women want people to die. They want their constituents to die... (and that's what has to be said about them). They want to price their constituents out of the insurance market so that if they get sick they die. Give these three leftist, feminist women who are NOT really Republicans the negative press they deserve until they lose their Senate seats and go away. "Some things are apparent. There was never going to be any meaningful repeal of this thing, nor any real tax reform. Both are categorically - empty campaign promises, like the hordes of those before them. Trump stopped Hillary, Trump got us another good SC Justice, Trump is trying to get a handle on illegal immigration and violent jihadists, and those wins are about the best we'll get, and we ought be happy for it. The rest is wishful thinking, as it requires too many actually good conservatives to accomplish, something we lack, when in reality what we have is a government chocked full of entrenched big government globalists and half or more of the country who agrees. The problem is much deeper and wider than three rogue women. There is only one Ted Cruz, only one Rand Paul, and 533 others who don't think that way.

Have the RCC (Republican Campaign Committee) withhold 'all' campaign funding for their next election, and throw funding and support behind their primary challengers. If they don't want to function as Republicans, and in the best interests of the country, then defund their future political aspirations. ----------------------------- Guns are awesome because they shoot solid lead freedom.
