Best tasting piece in the loaf. “Remember to get vaccinated or a vaccinated person might get sick from a virus they got vaccinated against because you’re not vaccinated.” - author unknown

I usually eat them last but if the wife gets to them first they're bird food. "Even if the world were perfect it wouldn't be." ... Yogi Berra

The ends serve a vital function of protecting the delicate inside bread slices from drying out. Eat the inner slices till there are none, then eat the ends. ...that I will support and defend...

My Grandfather would fight you for them. He said they were the best. Collecting dust.

Partaking of the end piece first is how you interview the loaf of bread. Best regards, Nick. NRA Life Member and Certified Instructor

I just didn't expect the heel pieces to be so popular. Most people in my family are not fans, although I like them.

I dry mine and my freeloading deer eat them during the Winter/Spring.

goodheart |
Wife just made the first batch of bread made with freshly ground hard red winter wheat berries, using our micronizer grain mill and Bosch mixer. Much better than the previous batch made with commercial flour. When that batch comes out of the oven, the heel is the first eaten; the rest doesn't last long. I fear unwanted weight gain coming. _________________________ “Remember, remember the fifth of November!"

Use to throw them away. Now I just save them just in case I run out of tp.

I didn’t vote because there is no use with soup or stew option. End pieces are great dunkers in certain soups and stews.
