| If someone sold a loaf of bread which was all end pieces, I'd buy that.

We're not done. I just got to the coveted last slice of wheat bread. Double toasted, slathered with fresh mayo, piled high with "DiBruno's Signature" oven-baked turkey breast and American cheese. Served open-face with Wise chips and a Coke®. The heel holds it in. Ties it all together. |

Drill Here, Drill Now
| Growing up, I always thought Dad would eat anything. Mom always portrayed the ends of the loaf as "something only Dad would eat." I was in my 20s before I realized that I had been hoodwinked, bamboozled, and lead astray. That was Dad's favorite part so Mom made up the story to keep us from eating it. I've also come to realize there are a lot of things Dad doesn't like so Mom never cooked them. quote: Originally posted by Blackmore: Toast them after letting them protect all the other slices.

A Beautiful Mind
| Ends of loaves go in a paper bag to dry out. Once thoroughly dry, you heat milk and put cinnamon and a little sugar on them. Good "Depression Era" desert!

| They stand guard over the inner slices till all gone, then eaten last. Regular sandwich duty or toast, either way is fine. |
