At least that is what it seems like reading all the media. Of course, our area does not have the proper equipment for ice/snow since it is summer 99% of the time here.

Most things are shut down, so far only one car driving in my neighborhood. I grew up in the Midwest and always liked the way snow makes things look. Enjoying snow for the next several hours, we will be in the 70’s by Sunday….

Enjoy!

We only got a dusting over night... but 0 degrees is cold!

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."

My daughter grew up here (I grew up pretty close to where you are) and she now lives in KC Mo and hates the cold. I kind of miss it.

About 2" here in N Houston
Kids are loving it & even the dog was bounding around in it.

Currently 26* & still coming down lightly.

My wife grew up in the mountains between Bakersfield & Edwards AFB, so she did her time & hates the cold now.

It's been a while since we had snow in the northern suburbs of Houston. Not real fond of what the arctic blast brought with it Wink

Nice to have a snow day once in a while that you can get time off to relax. Looks like south of Buffalo is getting it pretty good today, but they still have to go to work there. Have fun and enjoy it!.

It was truly apocalyptic down here in the Golden Crescent. Mayhem. It also appears someone shoveled my walk already (I have great neighbors).

On a side not, I'm considering painting my roof white, I kinda like it.

We were hearing the Victoria & a lot of S TX was going to get a lot more. Glad it seems to have skipped over you.

Oddly, my walk was also clear this morning when I went out, despite 2" in the yard & on the cars.

The town shut down. Sunday the texts went out that schools were shuttering Tue-Wed and city services were limited.

HEB had little left on the anticipated shelves and curbside appointments were full.

The taqueria I usually go to was in full operation though, thankfully.

The hoarders stripped HEB bare on Saturday, HEB restocked, the hoarders stripped HEB bare on Sunday, HEB restocked, and HEB's parking lot was overflowing yesterday too so I'm guessing it was cleaned out again.

My definition of bare excludes the vegan section. Tofu is still there for both hurricanes and snowpocalypses.

I live in Temple (3 hours west of Houston)and they shut down the schools last night. Woke up to find zero snow on the ground. typical knee jerk reaction. Why not wait and see, if it snows then cancel school.

Sorry your guys are dying, dibs on your gear

I've been going to the one up on 242, same distance, fewer lights.
It wasn't as ravaged & there were only a few major items out of stock on Sunday, and it wasn't as apocalyptically crowded as I was expecting.

Just because something is legal to do doesn't mean it is the smart thing to do.

You por folks down there will really be hurting if you ever get a for real snow storm.
You know, like 6 to 48 inches.

Maybe taken through a window screen?

Different when you don't really have the infrastructure in place to deal with it. Coworker said the last really major winter storm was in something like 1836, Houston got around 30" of snow.
2" is pretty significant & out of the ordinary for the majority of people here.
To make it worse, those that do decide to venture out in it, drive the same as they do in the rain, not accounting for the further reduced traction on the roads.

Too much focusing on the epic snow, I didn't even notice it, until you pointed it out, and I had to go outside again to check it out. Just weird lighting effect. Lol.
