This should help the ailing lingerie retailer.

Victoria’s Secret was once known for their beautiful models strutting down the catwalk in angel wings and lingerie.

It’s 2021 so the company is going in a new direction by getting rid of the ‘angels’ and bringing in America-hating, purple-haired SJW Megan Rapinoe, transgender models and plus size (obese) women.

“When the world was changing, we were too slow to respond,” Martin Waters, the chief executive of Victoria’s Secret told The New York Times. “We needed to stop being about what men want and to be about what women want.”

Every fan of US women’s soccer should hate her for attempting to kill their sport by politicizing what should be entertaining. I don’t think this is going to be nearly as beneficial as they are expecting.

Not a surprise. Last time I went with my wife, they had very few items in her size. When she inquired about size 0 or 2, and D-32, she was told that very few people fit those sizes, and they cater to the majority. She was told maybe one of the department stores might have something in the junior sizes.

What she did find, she said was uncomfortable and that their quality isn’t what it used to be.

So if they’re now focusing on the alphabet people, I’m guessing the lineup will change also? Women’s panties will now have the option of pouch or pouchless? Bras will be offered cupless for the guys?

In 2018, former chief marketing officer, Ed Razek left the company after claiming the public has no interest in seeing plus-size or transgender models on the catwalk, saying, “The show is a fantasy.” The day he left, trans model Sampaio shot her first campaign for the brand.

Shortly after Razek’s comments the Victoria’s Secret Catwalk show, once graced by the likes of Gisele Bundchen, Heidi Klum and Miranda Kerr, was also cancelled.

Their quality of lingerie has actually never been very good. My wife hates their stuff. She buys French anyway.

I used to deliver to the stores across NY State. The ladies shopping there all seemed to be some kind of attractive. As for the runway models, it might make for some bitchin humor to see obeast, tatooed, multi color haired, whiskered, cellulite clad, fat bodies, thundering their girth for all to see. Maybe delve into stand up comedy in scivvies.. Big Grin. Bring on Lawanda Page.

There is NOTHING wrong with many 'plus-sized' women. They are NOT all 'obese,' either.

The standard Victoria's Secret (or Sports Illustrated, etc) model, to me, is an unattractive beanpole anorexic snob without any discernable female body features. Really, when their ribs poke out of their parchment-like skin, it reminds me of concentration camp inmates. My biggest urge when I see them is to feed them a decent meal. I happen to like 'curvy' and 'voluptuous,' women. In the fashion world, anybody over Size 0 is considered 'overweight.'

For example, I think Bernadette on Big Bang Theory is a LOT more attractive than Penny.

Now, they can keep the trans 'models' to themselves. I'm not really their target audience, anyway.

I think a lot more companies like this will commit career suicide over the next few years if we don't reverse the trends. They see what is reported in the media, and mistake that for the mainstream attitude of the majority of the country. There are a LOT more conservatives out there than the echo-chambers (try to) lead us to believe. . .

The only reason I go into their store is to buy the Amber Romance spray

It’s amazing at keeping those almost invisible blood sucking evil midges no see-um gnats away

Uhm.... That's what "plus-size" means. The term was invented so as to avoid words like "fat," "obese," and grossly overweight.

Yes, they are unrealistically, unhealthily shaped. No question about it.

That's for runway models. I just asked my wife. She is somewhere between size 10 and size 12. She does not shop in the "plus-sized" women's sections. That's because she's mildly overweight, not fat/obese.

Have you ever noticed Melissa Rauch's waistline and legs? Sure, she's certainly stacked, but she has a very tiny waist and very slim legs. No way in hell she's "plus-sized."

Kaley Cuoco has a bigger waist and legs than Melissa Rauch, proportionately speaking. Kaley isn't skinny, much less anorexic, by any stretch of the imagination.

We, as a society, have become used to regarding overweight as normal and people with healthy weight as anorexic. You like zaftig women--or maybe even beyond zaftig. Fine. That doesn't mean average women who happen to be fit are anorexic.

More here:

According to Sarah Hoyt of Instapundit, the whole thing looks like a loser. Getting woke is always a formula for going broke, as we all know, but in this case, the V.S. customer base is dispensed with altogether in favor of another one. Not exactly a formula for growth, actually:

THOSE WHO THINK THE MALE GAZE IS OBJECTIONABLE WON'T BE HAVING DESCENDANTS: Victoria's Secret Commits Suicide.

I'd say the new plan is to appeal to butch lesbians, but that's silly. By calling their new models the "VS Collective" they clearly want to appeal to communist butch lesbians. I don't think they've thought this through, though. There's no way to put a Mao collar on a pair of panties.

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."

Every gal that I've been with has all commented about how crappy VS lingerie is. All of them, to a T, all remarked that it's a brand for the teenager and college ager who doesn't know any better, and is easily swayed by with the impression that VS is the must brand for looking cute in the bedroom and underneath.

Agreed.

Let us all be honest. How many of us have wives or girlfriends who are size 2 or less? Or even size 8 or less. I think I read that the average American woman is a size 14. And size 14 is plus size to the clothes business. Not very damn many of us have women that could, based on their size alone, get work in fashion, lingerie (which uses women slightly more curvy), or even as actresses, and the older we get, the fewer it is.

Do you call your plus size girl "obese?" You don't, unless you are a jackass.

And retailers are waking up to the fact that if they appear to only have clothes for waifs they are missing a lot of business. Plus it does mess with "regular" women's heads that the fashion industry considers anyone over a size 2 to be big. I view the trend as backing away from the idea that only women 5'9" and 115 pounds are sexy is a good idea.

Likewise, advertising to trans people or lefty lesbians won't make me love Victoria's Secret, but it is no skin off my nose either.

I think it’s a failure of advertising personally. It’s not about advertising to plus sized women by using plus size models. The idea is a plus sized woman looks at the smoking hot model and thinks, “Hey that bra and panties will make me sexy like her. “ It’s just how advertising works.
I think the majority of men prefer thin women. The “plus size” women I’ve seen in Dove commercials border on obese. If they just go with curvier sexy women that would work.

As far as the trans stuff they are catering to a tiny segment of the population and also just annoying the shit out of the rest of us that are sick of the woke crap.

These go to eleven.
