I'm curious of what happened next. So she's laying there snoring and everybody is looking at each other with the "What now?" look. Does a doctor step in and start giving her life saving care? What is she doing today? Is she in a hospital bed being given morphine because her arm hurts?

Also, one thing I never understood is why the execution happens right when the warrant is about to expire. My take is if the warrant grants a day, then start at midnight and keep on trying for a full 24 or more.

I get kind of angry about these executions. Her victim experienced fear and horror and died in a violent manner. Why does the murderer get a soft way out?

Yes, she is currently hospitalized and receiving medical treatment.

They have a duty to provide medical care, so she can be healthy for the next time they try to execute her.

(Not sarcasm, believe it or not...)

Definately there's friggin in the riggin.I'd be curious to know who swapped out the drugs.
Now the defense is trying to make a case to let her off since she had the shot and survived.

They should keep a lead pipe discreetly tucked away and handy for instances like this.

Forgive me, but that's ridiculous.

Clearly, this is a matter of gross incompetence, with this all-female crew botching the job. This gal complained that her arm felt like it was going to ex-lode. They pushed a large volume of liquid into her tissues. They were not qualified to perform this task.

It didn't occur to me- not at all- that some of you would try to turn this into some sort of conspiracy, but I should have known better.

Gross incompetence of the people assigned the task. That's the cause. End of story.

At least we don't have any of those clowns who are saying the Devil protected this murderer, because she carved a pentagram into her victim. There is no way for me to adequately express the contempt I have for those jackasses.

My apologies. Conspiracy wasn't on my mind either.
Ordering the wrong strength or type of chemical was.
Incompetence for certain.
You can not survive that chemical mix, so I was concentrating on it being altered somehow.
Missed her vein, perhaps so.
Again, no intent to start a conspiracy or derail the thread.

Hopefully she'll be back on her feet so they can kill her again soon.

Give her the firing squad, which is what she requested in the first place.

Living here in TN, the wife and I got sick of hearing about the rights of the defendant. Ashamed it did not work but very curious as to what exactly happened. Would be a shame if she lies in agony for a week or two before expiring. Not!
We feel terrible for the true victim's mother.

Build a special vault room for the condemned. Make it like "Let's Make a Deal" and let them choose door number 1, number 2 or number 3.

They're strapped to the wall and can't move, but they have 30 seconds to pick a door, or one is chosen for them.

Behind one door, is .12 gauge shotgun, rigged to fire when the door opens.

Behind another door is a gas that fills the vault and makes them go night-night permanently.

Behind the final door is freedom... (Nah, just kidding.) Behind the third door is a concentrated laser that zaps right through the cerberal cortex. Almost no pain is felt, so we are told.

And I understand that Governer Hair Gel of California has an environmentally friendly solution:

There's gross incompetence then there's someone had her prepare for this by changing her diet and dehydration.
Someone planned this for her. Now they're stopping executions.
I'm in the conspiracy camp on this one.
These people with agendas are infiltrating everywhere.

Yup. I bet, if one had the expertise, time and effort, they could easily dig up all the social media footprints of these insiders, including the executioners, and find that some are hardcore anti-capital punishment type.

The incompetence of these teams disgusts me. This individual sounds like she is as evil as they come and I think the death penalty is appropriate. However, once incarcerated and the sentence is being carried out, the execution team is working on society's behalf and is obligated to do it properly. These fuck ups don't seem to be rare. Nurses and phlebotomists seem to find "difficult veins" on everyone from dying patients to squirming little kids on a daily basis. Where are they getting these executioners? The local homeless camp? Hell, the homeless are probably drug users and could find a vein better than these clowns.

I find everything about this fiasco disgusting. Then it gets topped off with (from local LSM)

"Pike's attorneys said Thursday she is in a Nashville hospital in critical condition, receiving life-saving care"

Life-saving care? Really?
