Strongly disagree.

You apparently see Jesus as a mamby-pamby pacifist.

I see him with a whip in his hand, beating the hell out of of hypocrite money changers as he tosses over their tables.

There is no reason whatsoever for Christians to put up with this bullshit.

Fight back.

Thanks,

As a Christian, I'm perfectly okay with this.

Business owners should be able to deny service to whomever they want. As long as it works both ways, I have no issue.

Years ago, before I met Mrs. V-Tail, my date and I arrived at a restaurant well before our dinner reservation time. Not really familiar with the neighborhood, I saw a bar and suggested that we have a drink.

Once in the bar, I ordered. Bartender said, in a not very friendly way, "You realize that this is a gay bar, don't you?"

I looked around. Sure enough, my date was the only "real" woman in the place.

I told the bartender that we were early for our dinner reservation just down the street, we really had no interest whatsoever in the politics of the situation, we just wanted a quiet place for a before-dinner drink, and if our money was no good there we would leave without a fuss.

Bartender smiled, served up a really good martini.

Jeez. I'm not sure about these folks being Christians. That is one creepy website.

A wedding cake means something more.

Christians hold marriage to be a sacred vow with man and woman before God.

There is a significant difference.

I understand many Christians believe this, but it's purely subjective and not universal.

What's important to each group differs, as does the why.

The way in which both scenarios are the same, and the part that matters most in terms of a free and functioning society, is that the owner of X can refuse service to Y for any damn reason they please (short of the official protected classes the government has defined).

The gay coffee shop owners may feel equally strongly about how egregious it is to them that many Christians call them monsters or whatever, as you do that making a wedding cake is a big damn deal and ought not be required. Both are entirely subjective.

They're the same in that sense, and the same in terms of the business owner's rights to choose who they do business with, for, more or less, any reason at all.

The bigger issue is one of freedom, not the definition of nor magnitude of marriage.

And this is what freedom looks like.

Sometimes it's ugly.

But it beats not being free.

Again, none of which endorses or excuses someone being a dick about it.

Like a moth to a flame on this topic... I've said it before: I'm glad I don't live in your world.

I grew up catholic but I no longer attend mass. After looking at that website I wouldn’t want those creepy people in my shop. I could care less if you are religious but that shit seems a bit extreme and weird to me. It’s too far from sanity, some fringe religious stuff if you ask me. I wouldn’t want people spewing that kind of crap around me either. I will admit that owner fellow was also an asshole.

Perhaps they can get the Westboro Baptist Church to represent them in court.

I sort of don't have an issue with whatever sign he puts up saying he does not serve any religious customers (or will it only be Christians). But let's do a test and go in as a "muslim" group and see what he says.

Hindsight being 20-20, I would have asked him to have the police come and have the police escort them out. Then it is on police record with the reason for denying service for x reason. But in the end I wouldn't spend my money there.

The reason this became a national news story is because it doesn't work both ways.

Waste of time.
Just don't do business with them and let the market do it's thing.

The vile, arrogant fuck needs to have the ever-loving shit stomped out of him. "But Para, what about..."

No, he needs to have his fucking arrogant clock cleaned, to the point where he's begging for mercy.

Vile piece of shit. I'd gladly pay for the privilege of watching him get stomped.

Part of the solution, or part of the problem- which one is this guy? Whether or not you're a Christian- and I am not- if you watch how that disgusting asshole acts in that video and you don't see his behavior as entirely wrong, no matter what he owns...
