Where do you guys meet up with folks? I've done this in McDonald's and Walmart parking lots, but this guy registered to buy the gun off me. He's local and seems reasonable enough. I have a trusted range friend who will go with me to watch my back, so I won't be alone. Would still prefer to meet at a gun shop, but the ones I'm calling are saying "yeah, no, we don't do that."

More often than not I’ve met in a shopping center parking lot. Always during the day and always with a friend, with the exception of the two times I met established members of this forum when I went alone.

I like large shopping centers like grocery store parking lots because there are plenty of people around and it’s easy to get a spot far enough away that people don’t see you playing with guns but close enough that people can see you.

Why not just do it at the gun shop parking lot?

You’ve got overwatch, you said.

I’m thinking middle of an open area, somewhere remote. It would give him a better field of fire if things go sideways - no bystanders to worry about.

Our gun grabbing legislature and governor took care of that problem when they forced us to do all gun transfers with an FFL completing the paper work. Prior to that I always went to a PD lot.

Empty drive-in parking lot, with your buddy providing over watch from the roof of the concessions stand, preferably with an HK 91Wink

Or the PD parking lot (as has been said, notify them first).

First I try to vet those that I sell to. I ask questions and ask for ID pre sale meet up. Then I chose a place that is natural. As mention the PD parking lot or other such places. I've done a few in McDonald's lot but only for people I was confident where legit.

I've done busy gas station & supermarket parking lots in the past. Just somewhere with tons of people around in the parking lot. But just not right up on me.

Yeah if you like that. Me it sends me to the commode. Both kneeling and squatting. I don't think I could concoct a worst sandwich unless it was tuna with peanut butter and honey with horse radish.

Good movie.

I miss those days. My last transactions before universal background checks was at his house. I was the buyer though.

I would not choose the PD. They may get curious and come out to see what is up and fuck the whole thing up.

I'd stick with McD's parking, etc. if in a decent part of town. Or a gun shop lot, even better.

There are 3 locations that are popular with people I know.

1. Sportsmans Warehouse parking lot

2. Wal Mart parking lot

3. Bass Pro parking lot under their huge sign in the parking lot.

When you meet with the guy, have your friend on one side of him and you on the other. Do it casually, like your friend is just meandering around. It'll make him nervous but you can put him at ease pretty easily. If he does have bad intentions he'll know he can't get both of you so things will be okay.
