We'd best be more concerned with the muslims than the commies. While they are two sides of the same coin, the former is far more of a clear and present danger to our republic.

The Democratic Socialists of America Just Adopted a Radical New Platform
https://www.city-journal.org/a...workers-deserve-more

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."

How in the world can any DSA candidate that gets elected to Congress take the oath of office to "support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic" when their platform explicitly calls for its destruction? They ARE the domestic enemies.

Oaths do not carry much weight with those who have no character.

No they won't. They are in the vast minority of this country, and will be eliminated wholesale.

Despite being a minority. The left has the advantage. Way too many Americans have no interest or awareness of the political danger they are in. And the left has shown that they have the ability to coordinate and organize. That's the advantage when you don't have to worry about a regular job and are paid to be a subversive.

We are sliding down a very slippery slope.

The DSA needs caos, history repeatedly teaches us that.

Too many believe that judges create the rule. If SCOTUS were to issue a ruling, it can override the Constitution forever and without question. They don't believe (or understand) that rights exist, which the Constitution protects.

Yes, we could vote ourselves into socialism.

We will end up shooting our way out. Not today, but someday.

This is true.

While both are anti-freedom, the muslims are more committed and the commies are just lazy and stupid. They will be the first useless idiots purged.

It’s important for any concerned citizen to know that many, many small movements—and they all start small—have become large movements throughout history. All it takes is for enough stupid people to become convinced that it is somehow the answer to all of their problems.

And no, I’m not saying this movement will become a large enough movement to change things fundamentally because many don’t, but if it does, it won’t have been the first initially-small movement with a seemingly-crazy message to have managed that.

Which is why we should be countering the propaganda when we can. Also, resisting things like the cancelation culture that really ramped up during Covid, and the craziness of BLM/Antifa being coddled by the media and politicians.

There is a very real threat of people keeping silent for real reasons such as keeping their jobs, but then the movement gains enough power that dissent becomes truly dangerous to staying alive.

I engage lefties occasionally on social media or even in person, partly to establish that their position isn't as universally accepted as they try to make it seem.

In addition, I have a number of friends or acquaintances who are old fashioned D voters. I find that they become insulated from dissenting views by their bubble. Their goals are quite similar in the big picture as mainstream SigForum. Having respectful 2-way discussions brings down walls.

Sadly, I find it impossible to accomplish the above with Democrat/Liberal/Leftist true believers! It is like unto peeing into the wind - your shoes and pants get wet.

Like many of us, I have worked hard all of my life, served five years in the Army, worked my way through college and have been reasonably successful in business. I do not fall into the
‘Tax the rich” category as currently espoused, but that is the way it begins. Socialists have never seen a dollar that the do not covet… and then they use it to buy votes. A deadly downward spiral!

A video in another thread explained how Mamdani juggled the budget of NYC - that suggests the City is already on the brink of bankruptcy - needing State funds and delaying pension contributions are serious red flags.

All that said, I no longer attempt debate with True Believers… I will stay here in Florida, enjoy my 85 year old life and look on as NYC implodes.

This has been my experience as well.

We had a few old time friends, those going back to the JFK days, and who only watched CNN and MSNBC. They complained about a lot of things they see nowadays but, without exception, they voted for Biden and then Kamala Harris.

To hell with them.

An excellent synopsis of the Democrat Party today.

https://x.com/FloppingAces/sta...istration-day-525%2F

The Democratic establishment deserves a slow clap here.

Really. Bravo.

They spent years building the perfect little political terrarium: NGOs, activist salaries, university grievance factories, donor cash, media protection, blue-city patronage, “equity” rackets, and taxpayer-funded do-gooder laundromats all humming along under the sacred banner of “Our Democracy.”

Then they looked at the radicals crawling around inside and said, “Surely these people will remain manageable.”

Absolutely brilliant, guys.

Chuck Schumer and Hakeem Jeffries now look like substitute teachers trying to take attendance during a prison riot. The donors are sweating through their custom suits. The consultants are pretending this is just a “messaging challenge.” The media is polishing the same old turd and calling it “youth energy.”

No, champ. This is not youth energy.

This is the bill.

You told them America was evil.
You told them capitalism was theft.
You told them police were the enemy.
You told them borders were immoral.
You told them every institution had to be “decolonized,” “reimagined,” or burned down and rebuilt by people with sociology degrees and untreated rage.

Now they believe you.

And worse, they want promotions.

That is the humiliation. The party bosses thought they were renting radicals by the hour. Turns out the radicals thought they were being trained to run the place.

Democrats built the hive, fed the hive, defended the hive, and called anyone who noticed a conspiracy theorist.

Now the hive has the keys. Enjoy the buzzing.

The progressive true believers are unreachable, yes.

There are a lot of people who are not terribly politically aware, who watch some network news and go about their lives not really delving into details. They self identify as "liberal" or "democrat" because their parents were. They are very uninformed. They typically assume that the narrative they hear in the media is true and universally agreed with.

Those people can be reached with some facts or asking questions which cause them to think a bit.
