Wife and I voted around noon today. About 20 people working outside the polls passing out flyers, etc. Nice steady stream of people voting - there was a line but we didn't have to wait. We are in a very safe district, our pro gun NRA endorsed candidate is unopposed and some no name independent running against our pro gun state senator. No worries locally, but voting to send a message.

This message has been edited. Last edited by: BamaJeepster,

I wasn't sure there would be a Republican sample available, so I went to the FairfaxGOP website to verify my choices. The volunteers were at least good about reminding folks that there were no party affiliations listed next to the candidates.

Surprisingly, I saw more people with green sample ballots than blue inside the building. Hoping for the best.

My precinct was busier than I've seen it in some time. Hope they were the right people.

Somebody tried handing me a sample ballot and was indignant when I replied that I already knew who and what was on the ballot and already knew how I was voting.

Oh yeah, voted against both county referendums to spend more money on stupid shit like tennis courts and sportsball fields.

I grew up in Prince George's County, MD. They tried busing there in the 1970's, after I had graduated from high school. They finally gave it up when they no longer had enough white kids to go around. But the Democrats were happy. They changed the county from about evenly mixed between Democrats and Republicans into a permanently Democrat county.

Wrote myself in as Clerk of the Court today, largely because a friend of mine, a Democrat, was running unopposed. So, I opposed him.

That advice to, “Move if you don’t like it!” is looking less useful all the time.

Although I don’t know fully what the above comments signify, sympathies to all who don’t like how things turned out. Frown
