Anyone else think it’s important that these photos were printed in the freaking year book?

I mean, they were publicly reprinted! That’s means the editorial staff thought they were funny and certainly not taboo.

If it was remotely controversial back then, would they have put them in the year book? I think not. So really, folks need to relax on this viewing history through current lenses and move on.

Was it a joke in poor taste? Sure, but it was a joke, it’s not real racism. Calling this real racism serves only to finish real racism imo.

I have a high school picture of me picking citrus alongside the migrants of the time. What does that me for me?

Its all so confusing. But I claim my right as a semi fossil to just forget things.

There once was a time, long ago. It might not be proper sentence construction, but I stopped it there. Lets just say 45 years ago. I had a box of crap, including year books, in the basement of the house we owned on the hill. For whatever reason we had a "flood" that caused some damage.

I didn't give a shit and threw out the contents, maybe including my college year books, and I'm guessing our ice skates. Could be other stuff but I didn't and don't care about that either.

I have far more evil things I can be punished for. The last few years I trick-or-treated my costume was black face. I admit to my insensitivity because I'm a racist and a bigot. Such is life. I don't care.

There's pic of me in my hockey sweater in my only yearbook picture. Damn I was handsome.

God forgive me for portraying a Canadian.

Gee, I was never in my high school year book. I joined the army at the end of my junior year (11th grade). Can I still get a waiver?

You were doing a job no Americans want to do. Didn't you even read the papers that told you that? strike 1

You took a migrants job, his family was hungry. How insensitive of you to deprive his family of basic human rights. strike 2

You probably got paid more due to white privilege. They even gave you the best trees to pick, admit it. strike 3

You're fucked, stay in your current profession, politics is not for you, if all of this comes out the farm workers union will be picketing outside your home demanding reparations for the families you disadvantaged.

About 15 years ago actually contacted the old scholastic testing firm that terrorized all of us with notions of "permanent records ".....I was interested in my circa 1964 SAT scores.

Would have come in handy now. They advised their 'permanent records' didn't go back that far.

At my High School we were (still are) ‘Redskins’, the unofficial motto of the school is ‘Once a Redskin, always a Redskin’. Will that make for a problem?

speaking of changes in whatever-it-is-that-provokes-naming-of-school-mascots....

....my Jr. High School circa 1957 where much ado was made over being a proud "Rebel" (ala "South Jr. High")from early post WW2 era;

I noticed somewhere along in the 90s that had morphed into "Bobcats" or some such....

does that help on my waver application process?
