Found an SVI race gun for $1500 that had 7 mags.

Can't imagine what that would go for now.

Not exactly a "score," but my Dad's .38 spl Airweight Smith, passed down to me. It's the most valuable gun I have, and cost nothing. And everything.

Sig P220 in .38 Super, original cardboard box, target, and 6 mags for $595.

I picked up a Remington 1100 Sporting .410 a few years ago, a gun I have always wanted. I'm a Browning shotgun guy and I had a decent Belgian Light 12 but nothing terribly special. Noticed an ad on a local classified wanting to swap this 410 for an Auto 5 of any sort. I had $425 in that Light 12, which was already kind of a steal. But then I traded that Light 12 and $100 for the 1100. So $525 for it. I don't think I've ever seen one under $1000 and most right now are close to or over $2000. Plus, I love the gun and it's fun to shoot. It's gorgeous and perfect, with great walnut.


I also have a cherry of a Belgian Browning Auto 5 Light Twenty from 1965. I had traded a Kimber Pro Carry II for a Ruger M77 International (Mannlicher stock) 308 and was very happy but the guy I traded wanted to trade back. He saw some marks on the barrel that looked like wear. They were nothing, he likely just had buyer's remorse but I traded him back the next day. No big deal. I sold the Pro Carry for $800 and bought this mint Light Twenty. Nicest shotgun I own probably. 20's have kinda superceded Sweet 16's in collectibility on Belgian Brownings. I wouldn't take a penny less than $2500 for it if I wanted to sell. It's the gun on the left.

Probably the first gun I ever bought - a used Ruger 10/22 from a pawn shop in 1991 or so. I paid $50 for it (on lay away) and the serial dates it to the late 60's. It is still in great shape and both me, my kids, and quite a few others learned to shoot using it.

40 years ago bought a cheap .22lr pistol on sale for $80 at Turners in CA.

It was advertised as ok with high velocity ammo. Didn’t realize I had hyper-velocity ammo and the 1st shot blew the extractor out.


Part was $108 with shipping. So I just tossed it in my misc box-o-crap.


Several years later, Seattle was giving away $100 for pistols on a “buy back” program. Turned it in for a $20 profit and the fuzzy feeling of “getting a gun off the streets”…

have access to a FFL/SOT since I was a kid, so some good stuff purchased at cost,

probably the best deal tho was when I walked into a local range I used to shoot at,

mid day, no traffic, and I was talking to one of the guys that worked there,

he mentioned that he had heard I like Highpowers, and said he had one for sale,

late T series, about 85%, original grips, ,

$260

bought it on the spot, most were going for double or more than that at shows and other shops



years later someone had a pile of black powder guns, the handguns were all prop guns or repos, and one carbine type rifle,

got them all for cheap, like $50 each for the pistols and $100 for the flint rifle,

turns out it was an original Seargents Fusil, from around 1828-1830, likely a contract made gun for an officer or sargent, who had to private purchase arms,
