When CDNN was blowing out HK P7PSPs for $500. Also scored a stainless SA Mil-Spec for $160, missing only the barrel.

An older Ruger 38 spec. with a 3" barrel. Got a lanyard loop on the bottom of the grip. It is blued. Other than that I know little about it. Cool revolver. Remember something about it being an fbi or some other agency pistol. Doesn't have any marking so maybe I am dreaming that. Had for decades. Never fired it

I mostly think about all the deals that I passed on, so it's nice to be reminded of the good ones.

The first one that popped in my head -

It was about 20 or so years ago at a small gun show in the Phoenix area. I came across a Walther no. 7 at a table the guy said there was something wrong with it. I saw the recoil spring in the ejection port. I thought that it was missing the recoil spring bushing. He wanted $150. It's a pretty uncommon model so I thought that I should take it anyway. I talked him down to $125 and took it home. On inspection I found that the recoil spring/bushing was installed backwards. I flipped it around and had a perfectly functional pistol.

Just last year. Wilson CQB Elite 45 acp - $1800.

S&W 686 no dash and a Model 29-3 44 Magnum, found both in the used gun counter before my LGS moved all their used guns to GunBroker online sales only.

Found a bunch of deals that way, used to be the main reason I went in during the evening hours to BS with the staff and see if anything interesting came up. Now that all the used go to GunBroker I don't go in much anymore.

I bought a lot of new guns that way just coming in and looking around before.

Back in 2010 a friend was working at a second hand store, He called me and said the owner wanted to get back some money on a gun that her son had borrowed on. Went to look at it and it was a Colt Mustang no box or papers, only one magazine. I told my friend to buy it and make some money at the next gun show, He was not comfortable doing that so I paid the $135 she wanted. Gun looked like it had never ran a full magazine through it.

I took it to a couple shows until I got $600 for it, at the time we had a local member advertising in the classifieds where I found a HK USP 9 compact original receipt in the box showing purchase just two months prior. $650 for the HK put my out of pocket cost at less than $200. That was my all time best deal, I've gotten other deals over the years but I consider that my best.

My buddy gifted me a Ted Williams Winchester 94. Shoots great! And in an amazing buy, a nearly mint German P225 from the gun room at the Dundee MI Cabelas for $280.
And my kid magnet fished out of a Louisiana canal a Ruger GP100 3 inch. Cops did not want it. Cleaned up shoots great!

I'd always had a yen for a Colt SAA but couldn't get past the price they were asking for them, new or used. Then a few years ago a buddy was asked to help his Dad's friend's widow dispose of a bunch of guns. He showed me a list and asked if I'd be interested in any of them. And there was a 1980-ish 5.5" Colt SAA in .45 Colt. I said "How much?", he said "$700", and I said "Sold!". It turned out to be in new condition, I don't think the guy ever fired it. I still have it, it'll stay with me. If I was going to have a BBQ gun, this one would be it.

But my best was probably the M1 Garand I got back when DCM (now CMP) was selling them for $165. Mid-1990's. I sold it a few years ago for just under a grand.

A pilot that was moving from TX to DC sold me a Sig P6, Sig 1911, and Oly Arms AR with an Eotech for $1500 about 16 years ago.

Traded a Smith & Wesson 22-A1 "Jam-O-Matic" to a guy at work for a 10/22 +$50 (even told him the S&W was like Bob Marley - it be jammin'). Since then bought a Green Mountain bull barrel, Simmons 4x32 rimfire scope and Boyds gun stock for the Ruger.

Also bought a new Sig P232 stainless for $300 from LA Police Guns six months before Sig stopped production because, as LAPG stated, "no one wanted to buy a .380 any more."

$60.00 Ruger Mark II Government Competion model. Stainless. I will quote the transaction. “Just give me $50 bucks. If you make me clean it first it will be $300”. I had $60 in cash on me so I kicked in another $10 since we were friends. I did offer to sell it back to him at cost in the future if he asked. Still have it to this day. Fantastic gun.

S&W 4006 TSW NIB right at end of 3rd generation production with adjustable sights. They were list price over a grand when production ended. Has a riveted on light rail. $400 from GB

About ten years ago, I came across a Swiss P210-2 in the LGS marked at $999. No clue why it was marked that low, but I couldn’t buy that fast enough.

I've been setting up and actively trading at gun shows for near 30 years so I could go on and on about 5 screw S&Ws w/cokes but this is my favorite gun deal cause I got a smokin deal from head of local Democrat party.

He knew I was a S&W collector and asked if I was interested in a lady smith. I was picturing mod 65 3" and said sure - he was talking about a semi auto and I said no, not interested in bottom feeders. He says he's got a Colt revolver and I say Yeah? Nickel Python 4" w/ additional 8" barrel. Pure, I'm prepared for $1200, this was around 2006/7 as I recall. He says $400, I say it's worth more but he's fine with $400 so that's my story. I added the grips, came with gold Colt emblem pachmyers.

I was in Iowa City, Iowa and stopped at Scheels. I noticed a Colt New Service Shooting Master 38 special with Roper grips and Roper sights.
Prices was $425. I asked to look at it and the very young clerk advised the gun price was reduced because it did not have Colt grips.
I bought it and held it until a good friend and Colt collector talked me out of it.

I went with a coworker to an auction — my first auction ever.

I walked away with a P239 for $400 — my first SIG ever.

Not as good a deal as cslinger got on that Mark II, but I was pretty happy about it.

Best gun score was an authentic Saiga 12C pre ban shotgun I paid 350 out the door from a gun shop that didn't initially know what they had. About a day later they figured it out but I had already paid for the shotgun and took it home. Eventually sold it for 2500 bucks when I decided to thin the herd.
