He's not even close to being the fastest American, let alone the World's fastest guy. He may not even be the fastest white guy either.

When I ran track in highschool. I was told that each tenth of a second was approx 1 stride. This kid would be about 4 strides behind the world record. Very impressive for a high schooler. Ease up on the negativism. Garrett Scantling, who finished first in the 100m Olympic trial, was born May 19, 1993. Mathew Boling was born June 20, 2000, so Boling is seven years younger than Scantling. Boling has lots of time to develop. Serious about crackers

I'm genuinely curious because all this is just a matter of "fast" to me. Was your post just a throw away line or are you serious about the .2 lost at the start? How do you figure? "It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." The kid is still looking good. And he has lots of time to develop. “Georgia track star Matthew Boling ran the fastest 100-meter time in the nation and second-fastest time in the world on Friday, [Mar 11, 2022] stopping the watch at an eye-popping 10.03 seconds at the FSU Relays in Tallahassee. Boling, a junior from Houston, had recently turned in a performance at the NCAA Indoor Championships that saw him earn four First Team All-American honors…” https://www.dawgnation.com/oth...5PBHCDJRFNKGVMNW75U/ Serious about crackers

^^^That's old news. Boling is having a great season. The 9.98sec 100m he ran in HS was not wind-legal. He did run a wind-legal & PB (Personal Best) 9.98 last month as well as a 19.92sec 200m PB. Last week he won the 200m at the SEC Championships.

Sep 26, 2023 “Georgia standout sprinter Matthew Boling announced Tuesday that he is turning professional. …… Over the summer, Boling was named to the American squad for the world championships in Budapest, Hungary, where he was part of two relays that captured gold medals. He ran in the opening round of the men's 4x400 relay -- Rai Benjamin & Co. took it from there in the final -- and then helped the mixed 4x400 relay to a title. Boling, who hails from Houston, has earned his degree in marketing and is training for a spot on the U.S. squad for the Paris Olympics next summer. He's leaving Athens, Georgia, to train in South Carolina with coach Alleyne Francique, who until recently worked with Tokyo Olympics 100-meter silver medalist Fred Kerley. Boling has range in the sprint game, too, capable of running under 10 seconds in the 100 (9.98 in 2022). Or breaking 20 in the 200 (19.92 in 2022). And he's knocking on the door of eclipsing 45 in the 400 (45.17 in July). He happens to be a long jumper, too. For that matter, he probably could turn in a solid 5K time, as well, considering he's a trail runner in his spare time. "I don't want to go in with the mindset that I'm only a 100 guy because then I feel like that gets me a little complacent," the 23-year-old said. "But I do really enjoy the longer races." …” https://www.espn.com/olympics/...rformance-went-viral Serious about crackers

I go to high school track meets and love watching the mental gymnastics on the sprint starts. Last year as the season was in the playoff stage for the Missouri state championship, a skinny white guy was winning everything. The guy was ridiculously fast. I think four events is the max a runner can compete in, and he would sometimes win the 100, 200, 4x1, and 4x4. I think he had a bit of letdown in sectionals and state though.
