Fair enough.

I still am very puzzled and disappointed in his performance thus far though.

I would imagine it was this early loyalty that is the one thing keeping Trump from firing him? I know he values loyalty very highly.

It’s a fine balance between firing and resigning, kept in sway by the prospect of confirming a successor in a 51 vote Senate.

Luckily, I have enough willpower to control the driving ambition that rages within me.

When you had the votes, we did things your way. Now, we have the votes and you will be doing things our way. This lesson in political reality from Lyndon B. Johnson

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible." - Justice Janice Rogers Brown

Perillo Tours: 'Dump Trump' statement a 'quick decision' during primaries, since removed

but not removed from google maps, you can see it via the satellite image, link below:

https://www.google.com/maps/pl...045766!4d-74.0722832

quote:
Perillo Tours' Woodcliff Lake, New Jersey, headquarters might look like it's advocating the country "Dump Trump," but the business owner supports the president, said staff.

The Woodcliff Lake headquarters of Perillo Tours, Inc., owned by the son of Mario "Mr. Italy" Perillo, has been emblazoned with the words "Dump Trump" in white, visible from Google maps' satellite view.

The sign has since been taken down, said Diana Ferro, vice president of Perillo Tours, who said she did not remember exactly when the statement had been removed, but it was after Donald Trump was elected president.

The statement, which can only be seen from above, was a "quick decision" on the part of the current owner Stephen Perillo, 62, of Woodcliff Lake, to "post his opinion" during the primary season, said Ferro.

Last year the company had workmen on the roof and the white tiles use to spell out the words were originally planned to advertise Perillo Tours, she said.

A Facebook account appearing to belong to Perillo contains public posts critical of the president as recently as January. However, Ferro said Perillo now supports the president.

"Our business has actually increased since Trump has been in office," said Ferro. "He (Perillo) fully supports the presidency."

Staff at Woodcliff Lake Ophthalmology and Elizabeth Roche, MD, offices, which rent space in the building, said they were aware of the sign, but as renters have no control over the posting on the building. Staff said they did not know how long the sign had been on the roof.

Perillo Tours, the largest U.S. tour company offering trips to Italy, was made famous by its 1980s and 1990s commercials featuring Mario "Mr. Italy" Perillo persuading Americans to visit Italy. The company currently offers tours of Italy, Hawaii, faith trips and custom Italy vacations, according to its website.

So Trump is going to use an EO to outlaw bump stocks? Really? I think the damn things are stupid, but what prevents the next President from making an AR illegal by EO? Or 30 round mags? Slippery slope and all.

I’m watching some shit show on Fox with Trump and a bunch of Senators. Good Lord.

Did I hear correctly? Did Trump tell a congressman that the reason the congressman didn't have a requirement to be 21 to purchase a rifle in his proposal was "because you're afraid of the NRA"...?

Yup. He’s said it about 5 times in the past several days.

Now he’s saying to some senators “you have to come down on the strong side” in regards to Feinstein complaining about ARs. What the actual fuck.

I think Trump is trying to play both sides at this point. He did just shut down Feinstein on another assault weapons ban. Basically told her you just need to work together to strengthen background checks, the usual bs from diane ”.... but, but ARs!!! Weapons of war !!!”

.

See my post above yours. He didn’t exactly blow her off. He told Toomey you can come down on the soft side or the hard side (relative to some bill he’s working). And said he thinks you have to come down on the hard side. More or less what I heard.

Theres not going to be another AWB for the same reason there isnt going to be national reciprocity... not enough support. Were gonna get another watered down gun bill that does nothing to stop mass shootings but doesnt really affect legal gun owners either. I have faith Trump will stop the most insane crap from reaching his desk. We really need to keep the house and the senate more than ever though, that much is clear.

Then there was also his comment about how if you're unstable, the cops should take away your guns, whether or not they have the right to.

that is what I heard him say, the senator, I wasn't sure who it was from PA answered him that "he doesn't see why they should write a law that punishes all the law abiding people who are under 21 and have never done anything wrong with an age restriction" Good for him.

Trump nodded to him, but also made the comment that the reason the age limit wasn't in the bill was everyone was afraid of the NRA and they need to buckle up (my words not his)

These Senators aren't afraid of the NRA. They simply listen to the NRA because they represent us.

The reason the age limit isn't in the bill is because it's a do-nothing, feel-good item that does nothing but punish law-abiding Americans. But it sounds like he may want only the AR type rifle prohibited until 21. We'll see.

That was truly a bizarre performance by Trump at the gun summit today.

Take a look at his speech to the NRA when they endorsed him during his campaign. Was that the same guy from the gun summit today?

Don't get me wrong, I thank heaven every day that Hillary isn't president, and Trump has been much better than most of us who didn't support him initially thought he would be. Still, today is what we all feared about Trump. Hopefully, it is just politics and he stands firm on the 2A, but taunting Senators that they are "afraid of the NRA" (you know CNN will have that replaying on a loop) and casually dismissing due process for gun seizures is disturbing for sure.

Since he first launched his bid for the Presidency, Trump has been three steps ahead of his opponents, domestically and internationally. He is as great a strategic thinker as I have ever seen. Don't underestimate him or lose faith in him.

I agree with this 100%.

Individual states may do some asinine law-making also so watch out for that.
