According to the last comment on KCPW News page he might have gotten off with community service. What a bunch of BS.

These people are politically connected. It will take some pressure in the right places to get them to suffer the proper consequences. Losing a job is not enough.

I saw that comment but not sure that's accurate. I doubt this case has reached its conclusion so fast.

Thanks, DMF, for the update. I'm out of town for a few weeks so haven't followed up recently.

If Polly was an honorable person, she would resign in shame from her position as Assistant City Attorney. Of course, if she was an honorable person she wouldn’t have stolen that stuff in the first place. Hopefully, given the nature of the evidence, she and Andy will be convicted of felony theft and she’ll be disbarred and fired.

You're welcome. I must confess, this type of stuff fascinates me. Here you have a successful skier/author/backcountry guide, who has corporate sponsors, and an attorney who is employed by a small, but high profile city, and they both chose to commit such foolish crimes.

When a kid from a poor neighborhood chooses to commit crime I understand the motivation. They have little to lose, and something to gain. These two had a lot to lose, with nothing to gain. Again, it's simply fascinating to me, that they chose to behave that way.

I hope the media continues to report on developments, and I hope they can manage to report accurately, because I'd really like to see how this case progresses.

This is simple. The mentality is that
I don't like something and therefore it must change. I'll do whatever it takes to make that change. I don't like the people doing _____, they are evil anyway, so any hurt I put on them while trying to stop their _____ activity is justifiable. I don't believe I'll get caught so I'll dish out my own brand of justice.

They're blinded by their own arrogance and self righteousness. Quintessential leftists.

Talk about a two-tiered justice system. Then you have the flowery euphemisms; "A Marsac Building attorney who acknowledged involvement in the disappearance of hunting equipment ..." Wow! That makes it sound like she's a talented illusionist rather than a common thief who managed to use her (now former) position to turn a felony into a misdemeanor and get yet another charge dropped completely.

There's also little doubt that a hood rat who committed the same crimes would also have had his sentence held in abeyance for 12 months with the strong probability that the charge would be dismissed pending successful fulfillment of conditions imposed by the court. Yeah, right.

As expected in a liberal shithole, justice was not served. Double down and keep the story alive, stressing on the theft and keep showing the images. Put enough pressure on the local government to get the bitch fired.

She has resigned to go into private practice, according to the news story. I still think she should be disbarred.

Yes, she should be disbarred. I'm satisfied for the time being at least that she won't be getting paid through my tax dollars anymore.

She should have fun explaining this to the Utah State Bar Association.

There's got to be more to this than a simple, 'don't do it again' ruling. They committed theft, yet only got a, $1500 penalty, a years probation and a 50-hours of community service. That's pretty much the penalty of what a shoplifter gets for stealing a soda.

These two self-righteous assholes, went into the woods, WITH tools and intent, on removing and/or destroying somebody else's property, with evidence found on their property, showed they had done this prior as other's property had been recovered as well. What the hell Park Co?

It would be interesting if anyone filed a complaint with the Bar Association.

If I stole someone's property, I'd have to spend time in jail and likely lose my job. This is corruption.

Well, not actually. If your jurisdiction has a first offender deferment program and you had no prior arrests good chance you would get the same deal. Rich or poor, those deferment programs are available to everyone.
