A Texas teen charged in the stabbing death of a track star is holed up in an exclusive gated community in a $900,000 house - despite claiming to have limited financial means as he convinced a judge to release him from jail.

Karmelo Anthony, 17, walked free from prison after a controversial decision by a judge to lower his bond for charges that he stabbed and killed Austin Metcalf at a track meet on April 2.

Local cops says a confrontation between Metcalf and Anthony broke out during a high school track meet when Metcalf called out Anthony, who did not attend the same school as Metcalf, for sitting under their tent.

Metcalf demanded Anthony leave and the argument escalted when Anthony produced a knife and stabbed the junior from Memorial High School in the chest.

Metcalf died in his twin brother's arms who was also at the track meet.

As part of the terms of his release, Anthony is under house arrest and must wear an ankle monitor.

The teenager is now hunkered down in a Frisco home located on Mercedes Lane that his family is renting for an estimated price tag of $3,500 a month, according to Zillow.

When DailyMail.com visited the home Tuesday, a white Suburban, a black Acura and a third sedan were parked in the driveway.

One resident told DailyMail.com the family just purchased a new vehicle.

'He got a new car. If you look at the license plate, it's got a paper tag and it says it expires June 4,' the resident, who asked to remain anonymous, shared.

The lavish lifestyle is in stark contract to the cash struggles Anthony's father, Andrew Anthony, claimed to have in court Monday, where the parent claimed he was the sole breadwinner.

There is a gofundme competitor fundraising site for his living expenses.

...

As of Monday morning, the Anthony family had raised $412,000 on the crowdfunding platform GiveSendGo.

When asked why they hadn't used the donations to pay for the bond, Anthony's father explained, “We don't have access to the money.”

Defense attorneys later clarified that the funds raised were not meant for the bond. Instead, the money was being used to cover the family’s living expenses, including rent and bills, as they had to take time off work and hire attorneys, according to the Independent.

"This family needs to be able to survive. There’s been a tremendous amount of pressure," Attorney Mike Howard said. "I think at this point, living in a gated community, given everything, the safety of their younger children is very warranted. Security details and criminal defense are not cheap."
The kill whitey crowd is really forking out the dough for this murderer.

You don't hate the media enough, no matter how much you already do.

The post 2008 "race war" is pretty much their fabrication, and all they do is fan the flames, and the leftist youth indoctrination regime, public education, provides the justification.

There's no fixing this until the mainstream acknowledges that cultural issues exist.

No one seems interested in reporting what the new vehicle is, I've seen a Cadillac Escalade suggested with no evidence.

One way of saying it is a fool and his money...

Yes.

This fucking hood and his family will burn through the cash before the trial is over. From what I'm hearing in my town and across DFW, parents are seething in anger, extremely pissed that this murderer is not in jail right now awaiting trial.

No way would I live on Mercedes Lane in Frisco. It backs up to a busy 4 lane divided road, a few blocks from a middle school and a high school.

We have a college campus in that area I support so I am very familiar with the area.

I was disappointed how much money was raised for his defense fund.

Because it needs to support the narrative.

It's more like the left's version of Kyle Rittenhouse, b/c Anthony has never denied killing the victim, but he is claiming self-defense. His supporters are claiming justifiable SD, b/c the deceased, Austin Metcalf, bullied him, laid hands on him, assaulted him.

There were over 30 witnesses to the incident. I've read several alleged second hand witness testimonies posted online. Here's one:
quote:
The main concern is that Mr. Anthony was under a tent designated for another school. When students from that school asked him to leave, he refused. At that point, Austin approached him and asked him to move. Mr. Anthony responded with, “Make me.” They exchanged further words, and when Austin said, “If you won’t move on your own, I’ll move you,” Mr. Anthony replied, “Touch me and find out.”
When Austin reached for Mr. Anthony’s arm, he was suddenly stabbed in the chest. Most of the students nearby did not immediately realize what had happened until Austin called out for help, bleeding heavily from his chest.

That summary is consistent w/ most of the other testimonies I read including the ones in the arrest report:
https://static.foxnews.com/fox...ny-arrest-report.pdf

For Anthony to make his case for SD, he'll have to convince a jury that his, "Touch me and see what happens," did not escalate the situation. The danger was imminent, yet he had time to reach into his backpack and pull out a knife. He was at an outdoor track meet in a stadium yet was unable to extricate himself from conflict.

BTW, Anthony's online fundraiser has currently raised over $448K.

I wonder if any members here believe that a young man’s being physically assaulted by an unarmed grab by another young man is justification to use deadly force in self-defense. If so, researching the law in their jurisdiction might be wise.

This thug murdered Metcalf, plain and simple. At the tiniest least, stabbing one in the heart is a vastly disproportionate response to being pushed out of the team tent he did not belong in. But pre-meditation is a fact- the boy reached into his backpack to pull out the knife and taunted Metcalf "touch me and see what happens". This ain't Stand Your Ground or self-defense. I read the boy had a prior suspension for bringing a knife to school, and he was playing hooky being at the track meet. To those who do not know, "trespassing" in a team tent is heavily frowned upon, since thefts and vandalism have been an issue with opposing teams entering the tents.

I've refrained from commenting on this matter but the behavior of this family is utterly obscene. It's more than enough that they have collected up something like half a million dollars via crowdfunding, ostensibly for a legal defense fund for their little murderer and then immediately confirmed every cliche in the book by spending 150,000 of it on a Cadillac Escalade, renting a luxury home, Gucci sneakers for the little murderer; selling merchandise(!) off of this little bastard's heinous crime (t-shirts and the like)...

But now, this

https://x.com/MrAndyNgo/status/1912970231582232749

The father of the murder victim is a sad case, essentially defending the person who murdered his son in a statement last week (perhaps he's in shock, or maybe he really is a clueless leftist bleeding heart, I don't know) but for this family to have him removed from their fucked-up press conference because they can't bear to be faced by the silent truth of what their precious little boy has done- it's too much. The man showed up, stood in the back without saying a word, didn't make a scene, and he was verbally chastised and condemned by the little murderer's father, saying "this shows what these people are made of" or to that effect.

The crassness and classlessness of these people- as far as I'm concerned, the entire family is garbage. The Great Unblinking Eye has turned towards them and they are found wanting in every possible respect and I hope everyone has a chance to see them for what they really are.

The wrongful death lawsuit better clean out every penny that gofuckme account has generated plus all assets bought with it and maybe for once gofuckme can be sued.

WHEN this shitbag is found guilty of murder, get ready for a long hot summer.

It's a very sad thing in our world today at how little life really means/is to some people, regardless of color/race/background. God is the one to judge him one day, unless he repents and if not, the judgement will be far worse than any court system can muster. I would not want to be on the receiving end of punishment with the living God.

Human life has always been cheap, but it's the perversion which accompanies it in our modern society that's especially troubling. As an example, women gleefully murder their unborn children, and not only do they publicly celebrate it without any shame whatsoever, they are championed by a faction of our society.

The murder of this young man is another example of the perversion surrounding death in our society. This murdering little bastard gets rewarded for his crime, by people who are irredeemably racist and hateful to their core, and who simply do not belong in a civilized society.

It is amazing that such a small percentage of our country is able to create such a divide by utilizing racebaiters and hustlers like this "Reverend," and somehow Trump is dragged into the mix.
