Well, when you and your parents can't read the words and can only look at the pictures, perhaps the message of Dr Seuss books is subject to some other interpretation. I mean, illiteracy and/or stupidity is the only explanation I can imagine for this craziness.

NEW YORK, NY—Things have changed quite a bit in the world of Dr. Seuss, as six of his works have been pulled from publication, banned from sale on eBay, and eliminated from people’s minds using lobotomies to help fight the threat of racism. To get with the times, though, a new Dr. Seuss book has been released, called The Cat in the Hat (He/Him).

“In this new book, using reworked art from Dr. Seuss,” said a letter from Dr. Seuss’s estate, “the Cat in the Hat once again finds the two children home alone and bored. This time he diagnoses their malaise as gender dysphoria and proceeds to give the children puberty blockers.”

An excerpt from the book reads:

"I have some new drugs,"
said the cat in the hat.
"A lot of good drugs!
I'll inject them in you.
Your mother will not mind at all if I do."

The children learn a lesson in intolerance, too, as their goldfish ignorantly tries to stop them from taking the drugs, warning them of permanent side effects. The goldfish is then killed and flushed down a toilet.

Numerous drag queens will be deployed to libraries across the country to perform free readings of the book to children.

I guess that "Blazing Saddles" won't be shown this year. What about "Young Frankenstein"? The "Wizard of Oz"? "Bambi"???

I bought a copy of that to watch with my kids... I love me some Brare Rabbit.

I also have some Dr. Seuss books made before he was writing children's books... like "The Seven Lady Godivas".

The Sneetches is apparently next.

The Star bellies should have enacted social justice policies and atoned for their star privilege instead of just all deciding to be race neutral

The goofy thing about this is that the story of the Sneetches was aimed precisely at looking at who someone is rather than what they look like. PC Leftists just can't seem to see this.

God bless America.

Mom loved all the Disney movies and bought copies of most. Granted they are on VHS. While going through the house after Dad passed there was a VHS copy of Song of the South

It’s in my possession now. I let all the others get sold at the estate sale

Shoney's Big Boy - I used to love it when we got to stop there while on a trip in the 60's and get their onion rings, they had Little Black Sambo coloring books and such....

WSJ News Exclusive | Jeep-Owner Stellantis Is Open to Dropping Cherokee Name, CEO Says

Sorry, don't have link, pay wall.

The head of Jeep’s owner said he is open to dropping the Cherokee name from vehicles after recent criticism from the Native American tribe’s leader.

Carlos Tavares, chief executive officer of the recently formed Stellantis NV, said the company was engaged in dialogue with the Cherokee Nation over its use of the name. Jeep has two models, the Cherokee compact sport-utility vehicle and larger Grand Cherokee, that it sells in the U.S. and beyond.

Asked in an interview if he would be willing to change the Jeep Cherokee’s name if pushed to do so, Mr. Tavares said, “We are ready to go to any point, up to the point where we decide with the appropriate people and with no intermediaries.”

“At this stage, I don’t know if there is a real problem. But if there is one, well, of course we will solve it,” Mr. Tavares said, adding that he wasn’t personally involved in the talks.

Debate over the Cherokee name is among the issues facing Mr. Tavares, who took control of Stellantis when it was formed earlier this year from the merger of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV and Peugeot-maker PSA. In the interview Wednesday, Mr. Tavares also discussed whether to cut down on the company’s 14 brands, making Fiat plants more competitive and his plan to stick with China.

Holeeeeeeeee shit!!! Where does that leave us with the few lucky enough to own an 'Indian' motorcycle? Especially one like my dad's and 'Indian Brave'? It begs the question for all kinds of names we give our most powerful, fastest, bestest stuff - the Apache attach helicopter and among all those fine airplanes made by Piper - the Commanche. We are really going to be up to our necks in the 'let's not offend anybody' game when we have to rename the Crusader warplane and the Royal Enfield Crusader motorcycle....that's just the beginning.

Anybody here remember Al Jolson?

A white man, blacked up to look like a black one - if you squinted hard.

Mr Jolson was also, as well as being a much-loved and highly popular entertainer, a Jew.

Oy, the irony.

I remember a restaurant called "Sambos" in Ithaca NY in the 1980s. Ithaca (home of Cornell Univ) had a loud "woke" movement back then, and I recall heavy pressure to change the name.

The author who wrote that Speedy Gonzales should be canceled is late to the party to virtue signal his wokeness. The old, classic Speedy cartoons haven't been around in years, probably close to 20, because of his obvious hatred for Mexicans. Ironically, though, he is extremely popular in Mexico and other Latin American countries.
