I predict Chrissy Ford wont show. Even late today her lawyers sent another letter wanking about having to have her questioned by a 'sex prosecutor'. She'll chicken out and be a no show, make up some reason for "safety" or "security" issues, ask for a reschedule, etc. ![]() ![]()

This isn’t about Trump though is it? Maybe a little. This is about abortion and progressivism. As for the democrat politicians, well I’ll withold comments. Can’t some of them be impeached for not upholding the Constitution?

In the end she won't show and, as always, it will all be my fault.

It's ALL about TRUMP, this is just a downstream effect. ANY conservative SCOTUS nominee would get the same treatment, give or take.

What would be best at this point? She bows out, or she shows and makes a bigger ass out of herself? Cathy

I'd prefer she simply bow out. That makes the whole circus just a tiny bit more graceful. If she shows and makes a bigger ass of herself, it just escalates the whole thing and spins the spiral even harder (and messier) for the future. If she makes a bigger ass of herself, she still ends up being the victim in the mind of "the mob," and the mob will ratchet up its hatred two more notches. If she bows out, then maybe -- just maybe -- the mob will take a look inward and begin to consume itself. I could be wrong.... God bless America.

It's looking more like she never thought she'd have to testify and she & her fellow commies were counting on Kavanaugh dropping out or PDJT withdrawing the nomination. ...let him who has no sword sell his robe and buy one. If she bows out it will remove another opportunity for the Dem's on the committee to turn the hearing into a shit show of insanity and stupidity. It would also remove any opportunity for the Dem's to claim Ford had been further victimized by the GOP examiners. And bailing based upon not wanting to be questioned by a woman isn't going to help her win Collins or Murkowski over. The approach for Grassley needs to be..."She bails, we vote". ^Bingo. Ford was nothing more than a delaying opportunity. She has nothing to testify with and they all know it, hence the reason I too think she'll bail on Thursday. ----------------------------- Guns are awesome because they shoot solid lead freedom. The allegations are serious and have damaged Mr.Kavanaugh's reputation.Whether she shows or not I hope he sues her for all she is worth. _________________________

In the end, I doubt any of this will damage Kavanaugh's reputation given the 'victim' statements are ludicrously lacking in any substance, and even some in the corrupt media are even recognizing it. Once he's confirmed the Dem's attention will turn elsewhere again (read that as back to condemning Trump on everything. Oh and on Russia, Russia, Russia). ----------------------------- Guns are awesome because they shoot solid lead freedom. Every man should have several guns. +1 She's not gonna show. ![]() "Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible." -- Justice Janice Rogers Brown "The United States government is the largest criminal enterprise on earth." -rduckwor

Susan Collins now wants to hear the second accuser testify to a senate panel which would mean more delays. I would have thought she could see through this latest sham especially since NYT would not touch the story. My guess is McConnell is going to move on regardless of what Susan Collins wants. Hopefully this is just posturing by her trying to appease the metoo crowd but do the right thing when voting. https://thehill.com/homenews/s...ate-panel-under-oath

Oh stewardess, I speak jive. ![]() |
This is absolutely about abortion (strategy wise, I mean), and they're desperate and feel like (ironically, I suppose) they're fighting for their lives. Though many agree the decision itself in Roe is one that is bad because of how it's done/worded, and though about 1/3 of the country is against abortion, another 1/3 or so isn't, and it's perhaps the biggest hit button and watermark-of-changing-political-tides as anything, right next to Gun laws. And if this is all they've got, at this 11th hour, it certainly seems as though it's too little too late to actually effectively scuttle his ascension to the court. They're also terribly terribly bitter about how we stopped Garland from getting onto the court, so this is war to them, politically, for sure. I'm a little surprised its not been more and worse. They must have zip.
Even though I vehemently disagree with his stance on Abortion (simply an honest disclaimer, not looking to rehash that topic now) - I definitely have even stronger beliefs in the notions of due process and the presumption of innocence until proven guilty by a jury of ones peers, and I definitely think this shit show is incredibly suspicious and sorely lacking in material proof and credible sources. One can smell the desperate bullshit from a mile away, so keep in mind that none of my other comments trump these higher priorities... That said, him saying he was a virgin as a comeback is no more provable or inherently believable than their accusations against him are, and simply doesn't mean anything much. Hell, it's not even necessarily a laudable attribute. Anyone who is too pure, so to speak, is a touch suspicious. Like someone who has never even tasted alcohol. There are whole swaths of entirely normal and enormously popular human interactions and experiences they don't even have any personal experience in. And Popes and such aside, a man in this country who was still a virgin several years after high school, a smart and capable man no less, a normal/good looking man, that makes one question them even more so than normal. Just think about it. How many "normal" and high functioning adults have you ever met who are both deserving of a position of nearly unparalleled power and influence and who was also a virgin until after college... I doubt the average American has ever met 3 of them in their entire lives. He's not a terribly old man, barely over 50, was in a fraternity at Yale, and so on, and never once had sex until a few years after his bachelor's degree? It's unusual, at least, even for a fairly devout Catholic. Catholic school girl notions are some made up story, water all. Dude had to have had many opportunities. A touch weird, really. That he was supposedly a time virgin and has such strong anti abortion views is itself weird. Like some old prude down the road who is vehemently anti alcohol trying to dictate whether or not others can drink. It's a recipe for unclear and overly biased thinking, in that arena at least. I'm sure he's a fair and whatever else in general, of course. In any case, this kangaroo public court is bullshit. Those people need to cough up meaningful evidence, on the record and under risk of perjery - as it should always be for any real allegations, or they need to STFU and GTFO. The gamesmanship of it all is gross, and like someone else mentioned earlier in this thread - dangerously close to that Black Mirror episode and the horrors associated with mob rule. We must always resist that...

Why is the hiring of an "experienced sex crimes prosecutor" any different from the accuser hiring a known experienced sex crimes lawyer? Tit for tat, I say. 46and2, I can quite easily believe he was a virgin until college. I'm 80 years old and am still one. I am neither proud nor ashamed of that fact--it just is. flashguy Texan by choice, not accident of birth

I guess I'm being a cretin. I want her to show up and let everyone hear that her testimony is full of holes. I want the shitshow circus to roll into town in aalll of its glory, complete with a troupe of women in "Handmaid's Tale" outfits doing revues of Metro, Goldwin and Meyer's greatest musicals, an honor guard of screaming women in gory white shorts, and roving bands of juiced-up PC Bros making just-barely coherent but vividly violent threats. OK, I've tried the Oxford Comma - again. This sucks. I'm going back the other way.
