I've never had a brand new car, but in my life I have had two new motorcycles and two new trucks.

no, which might seem kind of depressing coming fro a 62 y.o. guy,
but that's the downside to always knowing my financial limitations.

I knew it would kill me to drive a new one off the lot and see it depreciate , and the I knew it would hurt me inside to pay the amount of interest over 3-4 years.

and then the "new car" insurance rates would tug at my small bank account.

In the event I get an extra $5,000.00 that I can't find absolutely anything to do with .
I will get a new vehicle

EVERY car I bought was brand new except one and I still have it.
The thing is that I keep a car for a LONG time even the only used one I ever bought had 10K miles - it was a 78 BMW bought 320i in 1980/1 and still have it.
So it's not like I turn them every couple years for a new one ~ more like drive it until the wheels fall off. Eek
New one 1972, 1978, 1981-(used still have), 1989, 2004-(still have).
Might be due soon. Smile

I listed my new cars on page 1--they were consecutive and (so far) 6 caars have accumulated 60 years service, or an average of 10 years per car. FWIW, my previous Daily Driver (1986 Mustang) was driven for 20 years, and my current DD (2006 Mustang) has nearly 14 years. If the car is running well, I'm not in a hurry to get a new one.

Only the first one (1960 Falcon) was bought on credit--I paid cash for all the others.

Yes, I bought my Jeep Gladiator brand new off the lot with just a few miles on it (more than likely a couple test drives). Less than 100 miles.

I'm 65 and I've bought 4 new cars for myself.

I generally drive them until the expense of yearly repair exceeds the yearly property tax on them (we have high property taxes on cars here). That's usually at least 10 years.
