It was amazing how that officer grabbed that flag and wadded it up like it was an old towel. Absolutely unbelievable that an officer would treat their national symbol with such disrespect, regardless of how it was being used. My view is only into the professional and entrepreneurial classes with family and friends, generally over age 45. I haven't had discussions with their younger adult children. Yes, they see the government as completely abandoning traditional demographics. Meaning ethnically British by generations of heritage regardless of race. They see the government as actively targeting them for ever more tax money, and scapegoating them publicly as a form of class warfare. And these traditionally British, decently educated and productive citizens cannot understand why the government is doing this. Though the government demographics are changing, there is still a very large contingent of white, wealthy, and privileged people running things. It seems to transcend mere power plays to buy votes, into actively choosing the destruction of their country. Widespread violence is in their near future imho, as the citizens rebel. Sir Ken misunderstands the why behind the emotions, perhaps intentionally so, but he isn't wrong that there is a growing threat from ethnically British who are fed up.

Long before the UK will resort to violence they will suffer from it. Slow to provoke, but effective as to the results. To point the finger at the "threat" of backlash ignores the origin of the problem.

Thank you for posting that. Not everyone in Great Britain has surrendered. "Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible." -- Justice Janice Rogers Brown "The United States government is the largest criminal enterprise on earth." -rduckwor

I followed para’s link in his thread about the “Streisand Effect” and saw this: I question whether or not it’s even real. Can the UK go beyond the state envisioned by Orwell? Confiscation of a Cell Phone _______________________________________________________ despite them

That’s a disturbing video, TMats, and it’s exactly what a tyrannical, oppressive, and lawless regime looks like. It’s their “Paper’s please.” moment. President Trump, Vice President J. D. Vance, and Secretary of State Marco Rubio have repeatedly called them out on their dangerous BS, and they were apoplectic in response. __________ "I'd rather have a bottle in front of me than a frontal lobotomy."

Para beat me to it:> Saw this after I posted.. https://sigforum.com/eve/forum...0601935/m/9360026225 UK Teen Arrested For Making Local Politician Look Like A Rabbit https://www.zerohedge.com/poli...litician-look-rabbit The teen also reportedly posted criticisms of Bennett's wardrobe after he showed up to a public meeting in short-shorts. The post suggested Bennett "was dressed like a rent boy" (slang for male prostitute). Police argue this comment alone could be considered a "hate crime". Four officers arrived at the boy's home on the morning of August 3rd, 2026 while he was sleeping. They arrested him in view of neighbors, seized his phone and laptop, took DNA, fingerprints, and a mugshot, and held him briefly in a cell. He was released on bail with conditions (including restrictions on attending council meetings). As of late October, the investigation remains open. More at link _________________________

As I read about incidents like this I’m reminded of the book Ordinary Men: Reserve Police Battalion 101 and the Final Solution in Poland by Christopher Browning that discusses how “ordinary” police officers helped commit mass murders after their deployment with German forces in World War II. No, I’m not claiming that the officers in this incident are mass murderers—yet—but at what point do ordinary people become willing to perform outrageous acts in support of their assumed duties without regard to common morality, not to mention having no understanding that the monster they’re feeding will sooner or later add them to its maw? This is just one more demonstration of what I realized even as a teenager when a semester of world history in high school was devoted to the study of The Rise and Fall of the Third Reich by William Shirer: With the right indoctrination and/or incentives, at least some members of any tribe can be convinced to do anything to members of other tribes. I know all that will strike some as hyperbole, but I strongly disagree. History has demonstrated too many times what people are capable of.This message has been edited. At the very least, actions like those of the British police officers move the Overton Window. People become accustomed to what would have been outrageous not long ago. These officers have their own subconscious range of acceptable actions that they won't exceed, but they are helping to enable ever more extreme actions by others who observe them. Human nature is to push boundaries. Human nature is to exploit weaknesses when they appear. It's a sequence of ever widening limits before the murderous thugs are emboldened to come out. Those who know history are doomed to watch those who don't know history repeat it.

Yes, another excellent point about the process and which is a form of mob mentality. “Most men … can seldom accept the simplest and most obvious truth if it … would oblige them to admit the falsity of conclusions … which they have woven, thread by thread, into the fabrics of their lives.” — Leo Tolstoy

Wow.... Thank God (and the founding fathers) for the first amendment here in the US. (more) ... The UK is on the verge of a political sea change, or, perhaps a mass rebellion. Everyone sees it, including the leftist political leaders currently running policy in the failing country. And when political elites feel threatened, they have a tendency to overreact to every perceived expression of mutiny. To understand how far gone the UK is, one need only look at the long list of wrongful and politically motivated arrests over the past five years, including people who simply posted funny memes online. Not to mention all the police intimidation for displaying the British flag in view of people who don't like it (migrants and leftists). However, the ugliest government actions revolve around the UK's attempt to suppress or destroy Gen Z conservative boys. British authorities have taken a special interest in the rise of conservative and nationalist ideals among teenage males. They have launched extensive propaganda campaigns to demonize conservative thinking among younger Brits and portrayed boys as "ticking time bombs" of racism and misogyny. This has culminated in an effort to utilize teachers as veritable secret police tasked with weeding out potential "thought criminals" in public schools. https://www.zerohedge.com/poli...litician-look-rabbit "Some things are apparent. I'm not familiar with Russ Read @ RussCanRead, but Russ needs to keep reading and do some more research. He missed the fact that the UK has two modern aircraft carriers - the HMS Queen Elizabeth (commissioned in 2017) and the HMS Prince of Wales (commissioned in 2019). Considering this glaring oversight in his post makes the rest of his claims suspect. "The Truth, when first uttered, is always considered heresy."
