Beautiful car. There's a "project" version in a driveway near me.

"I vowed to myself to fight against evil more completely and more wholeheartedly than I ever did before. . . . That’s the only way to pay back part of that vast debt, to live up to and try to fulfill that tremendous obligation."

Alfred Hornik, Sunday, December 2, 1945 to his family, on his continuing duty to others for surviving WW II.

My best friend in HS had this same car, except in yellow. The seat stitching is even the same!
Man, we had a great time cruisin’ in that thing.
Thanks for posting as it brought back some fond memories and I agree this car looks like it was driven here from the 80’s, the greatest decade of all.

Was it this body, or an 86 1/2 which was the bigger, heavier one with the targa roof option that came next?

Same as this one, burgundy leather interior, I had the rear spoiler on the 86, it was fully loaded option wise, sunroof, tape deck, great car, plenty of power relative to the era.

I had a black Supra back in the day.

It was a great car and I put over 200K on it.

Traded it in on a Dodge Ram truck when they first came out.

This is awesome to watch!!

You’re a rough one.
Wait till the last second to bid. He doesn’t wait long.

32 grand...speechless

edit: now 33.

If you had told me this thing would go for over 30 grand I never would have believed it. The seller has to be doing backflips.

35! holy shit.

Mark my words everyone who owns one of these is sending BaT an ad right now. Just like when that e46 M3 went for 40 grand not that long ago, now there's manual M3 coupes on there every week.

You put up a great fight, furlough. I thought the $35k bid was the knockout, too.

Probably a good thing he didn't win, the last auction price on a Supra of that body style at 2018 BJ auctions brought $8,250.

I always liked those cars. I can't imagine paying 35k for one now though. I think after a short while you would realize how good cars have become in the last 36 years since this one rolled off the assembly line.

Dumb question. What would have been a reasonable price for this very cool car? Without the bidding war what was the expectation. I always wanted one of these in high school.

I googled the same car and found a bunch going for around 20k. BaT auctions show a range of 10k to 25k.
