The deputy who was shot had called for backup when the thug got squirrely, and it was a mere 15 seconds after the second deputy arrived on the scene that the gangbanger started shooting. It seems to me rather unconventional tactics to make that run around the car but the deputy's actions ended the gunfight, so, good enough. | ||

For those that want the cliff notes version, most of the action is from 4:30 to 6:30. The deputies were very cool and the guy really stupid, along with the female. The fight seemed to end as the guy was sending rounds back towards the patrol car, where the deputies were not, and once his head started leaking on the ground he didn't move much. Looked like he took several to the noggin and that was it. It's a small world too. Somehow this guy had a connect to Murdaugh, the guy recently convicted of killing his wife and son. Pierce, the shootee also had an extensive record and most of his cases were not prosecuted. It amazes me how many times these misbehaving miscreants have done many horrific things before and then were let back out to have this kind of a finish. It's not right for the cops to get stuck dealing with this kind of trash. Prosecutors and judges who enable that should also have to pay. It's so wrong. Didn't need to look it up but I did. Horror story as noted: "In addition to these charges, Pierce also had multiple arrests on his record for drug possession, possession with intent to distribute (cocaine), manufacturing and trafficking (ice, crank or crack). Furthermore, he was arrested in March of 2021 – and again in June of 2021 – for violating his probation.": This Asswipe should have been executed if not locked up for 20 years min before this. | |||

I usually don't like opinion generated internet articles but the one posted above is worth a read. This is totally ridiculous and there are a number of officials prosecutors and judges that 'in my opinion' should be put in jail along with these scum they are letting slide. Reminds me of a wrongful convictions a number of years ago here in S.C. Jason Dickey was convicted of killing a guy and I contributed to his appeal. Our State Supreme Court voted 4-1 that not only should he not have been convicted but the Judge should have thrown the case out the first day and the prosecutor should have never even brought it to trial... guess what happened to the judge and prosecutor... nothing... From watching the video I had thought the back up officer was the one who got shot, but it was actually the first officer who was shot. The back up officer did a good job in quickly returning fire from the left front of the patrol car. | |||

The one major thing that struck me was the fine selection of backyard work sheds on sale adjacent to the incident. Some nice little buildings there, at least wo of which would looks nice on our ride-on railroad. The dead person took at least two straight into the top of the head, after a previous two, maybe three, into the upper torso.
