I was gonna suggest just leaving him there for the buzzards, but I wouldn't want the buzzards to get lead poisoning.

From the angle, that 124 grain Gold Dot (guessing) may have taken a ride all the way down that thug’s spinal cord.

He’ll never be able to return his “For Whom The Bell Tolls” library book on time.

I’m trying very hard to keep an open mind. Nope! Mind not open at all…

He probably WAS just trying to scare the officer. The officer was just scaring him back.

He appeared to be shooting straight back at the police car for some reason.
Bad for him, good for the rest of us, the police were ninety degrees to either side and good with their weapons.

Take note of the deceased offender's name (James Rakeem Pierce) and check the list of "Victims of Police Violence" touted by his enablers. It will be included among others that made similar fatally stupid decisions. When confronted with his actions, these "Progressives" will insist that the officers involved could have attempted to de-escalate the incident. Roll Eyes

Sorry one of the officers was wounded and prayers he will fully recover. Not sad at all that the thug was "smoked" ("shootified", "deaded", whatever). One fewer thug to worry about.

I love it when the corrupt prosecutor’s office is detoured and Justice is finally handed to the criminal. Glad to see the two deputies were not seriously injured.

Sometimes it isn't the Prosecutor, especially if "victims" decide not to testify or witnesses recant their statements. Yes, it happens quite often, especially where victims are other criminals, with other criminals being the witnesses.......Sometimes the victims and witnesses who are criminals only agree to testify if their pending charges go away (often those charges are as bad or worst than the crime where they became victims or witnesses.

That said, there are a lot of Soros backed progressive hacks screwing the already screwed up Justice System to new lows.

Which is exactly why I posted the above. I guess more accurately I should include the woke judges!

Curious, why did the officer go to the passenger side, the vehicle was in a parking area off the highway.

Would this be because he suspected the car was as indicated in the linked article part of the drug trade commonly running down that road or is there some other reason he would not have gone to the drivers side for a traffic infraction...

I don't think I've ever had an officer approach the passenger side.

A now-retired cop I used to shoot with, and who used to fly my airplane, told me that approaching from the passenger side gave him a better view of the driver's right hand (playing the odds, most people are right-handed), and kept him on the safe side re traffic.

Unfortunately, the driver wasn't the problem in this case, it was the thug passenger. Frown

Approaching the right side of the vehicle has been promoted by various LE agencies for a long time for those reasons, especially if there’s anything suspicious about the situation. It can also be something that the driver doesn’t expect, and if he tries to shoot the officer the officer is in a somewhat better tactical position and may be harder for the BG to engage.

In this case I wonder if the officer knew or suspected was in the passenger seat, and approached him directly for some reason.
