To America's credit. This is the only nation in the world that pays honor to those Americans of the Confederacy who were Americans before that war, during that war and after that war and a few years later served in the American army in another war
in The Great War. (World War One)
There's a VFW post in LaBelle, Florida with the United States flag and the battle flag of the South side by side.
The War Between the States was more about state rights than slavery.

My error, Superintendent, the commanding officer. He was also Lincoln's first choice to command the Union army, but Lee declined and went with his Virginia roots.
