[IMG:left]  [/IMG]They are building new housing just to the east of my neighborhood. My wife and I took the dogs out for a walk/run. Loaded them back in the Highlander and not too far from my house came across this little guy…. Seemed so friendly he hissed at his approval of his pic being taken….. him and a couple of his friends have been tearing that area a new asshole the last couple months. Gunther the WeinerHund voiced his displeasure in him but I didn’t let him out of the ‘Yoater.. | ||

More the other way around, both are mustelids, but badgers and wolverines are both essentially weasels on steroids. Permanently pissed off is more like it. Something about being short and kind of dumpy, happens to people (mostly women) too. Members of the weasel family are noted for having the strongest musculature by weight of all mammals anchored to solid thick bones. They can out-bite, out-wrestle, and out-last you, don't even think about picking a fight. I hear they sometimes will give up after they have eaten their fill (which may not be of much comfort). | |||

I ran into a badger once in the wild. I was hunting in northeastern Oregon a few years ago. I was walking very slowly along a logging trail when something made me pause for a moment and look down. I was standing right next to a badger den. The badger's head was poking out of the den and he was staring right at me. He was maybe three to five feet away from me. It didn't make a sound, it's eyes were just locked on me. I very calmly and slowly unholstered my 1911 and flipped the safety off. I had the pistol locked onto the badger's head until I was a more comfortable distance away from him and I went on my merry way. The whole time I tried to act as if I hadn't seen it and I never turned directly at it. I wanted the badger to think it had gone unnoticed. Tony.
