Get my pies outta the oven! |
Pretty nice gesture along with the 10% discount for us Veterans! I have no idea how long they have been set up like that, I normally park in one section kinda far back because the whole front center section is invariably always jammed, but had to park over there recently and spotted them. I like Lowe’s over HD in general and will continue to go there.

Why? Because us veterans can't walk 10 feet farther than the next guy who isn't a veteran? ________________________________________________________ "Great danger lies in the notion that we can reason with evil." Doug Patton.

No It is like employee of the month shit. Something a little different. Most vets I know are sick of this reflexive thank you for your service. I dont think they took away the Handicapped spots. The grocery even has some parking spots for cops. In a similar vein, doctors get the best parking at the hospital. Not all of them are trauma surgeons.

I'll have to check the local Lowe's. I don't shop there very often, but my Handyman does. We're both veterans. flashguy Texan by choice, not accident of birth

Put me at the top of that list. Combat vets deserve to be commended for their sacrifice, the rest of us...not so much. This is nothing more than a business decision for Lowes. They think that it'll draw more people because they apparently care more about veterans than Home Depot does. If anything, it should tell veterans to shop elsewhere. They are pandering to veterans, and using them as a business decision. Nothing more. Take it for what it is. Lowes is a business. Their bottom line is the dollar, not the veteran. Do I still shop there? Yep...when I can't get what I need at the local hardware store. And, yes, I'll use their 10% discount. If they're dumb enough to offer it, I'm smart enough to take it. ________________________________________________________ "Great danger lies in the notion that we can reason with evil." Mine has had them for a long time. I'm only 60% disabled and 67 so I park out where no one else does. Gotta' leave those spots for the old guys.

I agree… Some people are just sour assholes who find any reason to bitch, gripe, disagree, or get pissed. But your point in posting this was that they should be lauded for going over and above in their support for veterans. I was merely pointing out that it is nothing more than a business decision and a feeble one at that. They first offered the 10% discount. Then HD followed suit. Now, to one up HD, they'll offer veteran parking spots! What's next? Free lap dances at Home Depot for veterans? Yes, great small gesture if it was just that. But we all know that it is not. Sorry if I've become too jaded these days. ________________________________________________________ "Great danger lies in the notion that we can reason with evil." Doug Patton.

Both Lowes near me had them when we moved here two years ago. I am appreciative and use them often.

Why is it feeble to you? I find it rather nice when trying to carry out 3-4 cans of paint or something big and bulky that I don’t have to walk halfway across the parking lot. You almost seem jealous or bitter that this is being done.

I don't park anywhere that has a sign that points me out as being anything one way or another. They should be lauded. What we should be suspicious of is the consistent and constant need to shit on anything kind or nice as being some evil, nefarious act. This constant need to be cynical is tiring. And it is douche worthily. If you can’t find nice things about acts of kindness, perhaps you should just stay quiet. No one wants to hear how smart you think you are by figuring out the angles. It costs nothing extra to be kind.

The Lowe's here in Baton Rouge has had them for a long time. Tractor Supply here has them too. _______________________________________________________ And no, junior not being able to hold still for 5 seconds is not a disability.
