It's not so much the state law itself, as much as the precedent that was set when the state law was challenged, and the challenge lost. That established the precedent that vaccination could become mandatory. Back then they only imposed a small fine. But the precedent was set, and the courts now, apparently, are going to adhere to it.

What law?

Are you talking about the 1904 law in Massachusetts (which actually was a law)?
The Revised Laws of that Commonwealth, c. 75, § 137,
Or are you talking about Governor Hochul removal of the religious exemption, which was not passed by a legislature. It was her decree.

I find the Gorsuch dissent compelling:

I should add that I don't really mean to say that it's just Justice Amy Coney Barrett...
Brett Kavanaugh has also joined the Chief Justice John Roberts uni-party, Washington cocktail- circuit wing of the Supreme Court. Roll Eyes

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."
-- Justice Janice Rogers Brown

"The United States government is the largest criminal enterprise on earth."

I expected more from Barrett and Kavanaugh

Appears they both lied to the American people and to the hearings to get their positions
