Dave,

I want to order a rng from the original designer, you.

Let me know what I need to do. I recently worked with you on a ring for Jake so you have my contact info.

As an inventor who's had his designs mercilessly appropriated, I can sympathize. What the hell is wrong with people? Stealing...is...wrong.

Love mine! Big Grin

As I posted in Dave's March ring karma thread, you can buy here: https://www.2amolonlabe.com/ .
You'll have to contact him direct to see if there are any SigForum member discounts active.

As for this asshat copying Dave's design, he should be keelhauled for openers. I hate shit like this.
The Chinese seem to get away with it unpunished. But this jerk from Jersey. Sic 'em! Mad

I sent him an email: nothing nasty yet.

To: helpme@shineon.com
Subject: Second Amendment ring
This is an obvious copy of Dave Truong’s molon labe ring design. Can you do that legally?

Edit 05/04/2018 9:45am. Their response (my emphasis added):
Thanks for reaching out! Your request (XXXXX) has been received and is being reviewed by our team. Please allow 3 business days for a response - this is due to an unusually high level of support requests we've been receiving recently and we will reply to every email we get as soon as we can.

Thanks SF family! You guys are the best! This was my email to the owner of the site yesterday:

"Hello,

It has been brought to my attention that your ring listed below has completely infringed on the copyright of our Molon Labe Ring. I appreciate what you are doing to continue the cause of our Second Amendment but please create your own unique design.

I ask that you remove this page from your sight within 48 hours."

His ring page on his web site is still up despite your request Dave.

What's next to reel in this asshat?

I wonder if there isn't a lawyer member here who would be willing to engage pro bono....

Their facebook page is moderated....I went to post something and it said it would be reviewed by whoever managed the page before being posted. I bet it'll never see the light of day.

"BEST SELLER - ON SALE TODAY"

I'm seeing available until May 6.

RE: copyright - even if he didn't register it, Dave still has copyright protection. It started when he finished the first ring. Registration would allow him additional recourse for dealing with infringement, as well as serve as proof of ownership.
