It says on the page "Available until May 5."

Looks like after May 5, he just orders up another run. I’m afraid Dave may have to take it up another notch, and that’s a shame.

I just got a response to my email (above):
quote:

Please ask the person who feels the design violates their own designs and copyright to reach out to us with the claim themselves. We can't accept third party claims unfortunately.

Kind regards,

They sent a reply with a little more information today . . .

" As we have responded to several others who've reached out to us about this, the claimant just needs to submit the proof and information to us so we can review such a claim.

Our designs are collaborations between 3rd party designers and our CAD team but we take any claims of copyright infringement very seriously.

Kind regards,

Max

At face value, I am willing to believe that some 3rd party offered him the design and he copied without even knowing.

Dave you have always been very generous to this forum.

Is there a way you will accept donations for a legal fund to combat this? I am sure many members would be glad to help you. If you decide this would benefit you let us know and I will ok it with Para.

Interesting. Dave states that he send the following on May 3:
quote:
This was my email to the owner of the site yesterday:

"Hello,

It has been brought to my attention that your ring listed below has completely infringed on the copyright of our Molon Labe Ring. I appreciate what you are doing to continue the cause of our Second Amendment but please create your own unique design.

I ask that you remove this page from your sight within 48 hours."

I got an automated email from ShineOn this morning asking me to rate their customer service. Since Dave hasn't given the order to release the Kracken, I will ignore their request.

P.S.: I see the ring is still on his website.

Hope Dave has resolved the issue, favorably.

This sort of thing goes on all the time. It's only flattery if no financial harm is done, like when I painted my house Yellow instead of them ugly earth colors, and 3 houses in the hood copied me.

Remember, contracts, copyrights, patents, et al, are only good if and when you go to court. And it takes cash to enforce your granted rights.

My uncle developed some cool stuff but did not have the deep pockets to protect his patents (different country so different laws). My mother had wreath designs copied, but at this level, legal action was not financially worth it.

Even when big dogs are involved like Cisco Systems and Huawei (which copied Cisco's technology verbatim in eluding the same spelling mistakes in their english language technical manuals for the products), was finally told to drop da case during Obama the Magnificent's reign. Globalism and its profits ueber alles.

It only stands to reason that where there's sacrifice, there's someone collecting the sacrificial offerings. Where there's service, there is someone being served. The man who speaks to you of sacrifice is speaking of slaves and masters, and intends to be the master.
