Exactly! As the famous Tip O’Neil once said “All politics are local” and the pain the average person feels at the pump and grocery store is real.

No. He did his best in the 2020 elections, but we were not prepared at all for the aftermath, not sure if you remember Rudy or “The Kraken”.

BigSwede mentioned that he was sure the president had a plan - I was reminding him that sadly, we are generally unprepared for these occurrences.

Today is the first day of campaigning for 2028. Everything the Dems do will be towards winning the White House and keeping control of Congress. All the impeachments, every bill they send to Trump, every congressional investigation, and every news story in the leftist media.

Every failure, real or concocted, will be blamed on Trump and Republicans.

The next 2 years will be frustrating to watch.

That's quite true, so if you don't want to be perceived as trolling, you can help yourself by not posting stuff like this:

As sjtill pointed out to you, the margins are way beyond fraud or cheating, and he's absolutely right.

You need to exhibit greater objectivity, and far less of the True Believer stuff. Trust me, just ease off the zealotry and all will be well, and that includes your commentary about the Ukraine War.

How the administration responds to this kick in the nuts is critical. Trump is not the guy for humble pie, but he needs to resolve the Iran situation immediately. If we're still mucking around with Iran in 2028, the blue wave likely continues.

Better step up arrests and deportations of illegals, as well as whatever it takes to fix Iran, between now and Jan. 5th, when the new House is sworn in and pulls their funding.

In some ways the election of these stooges are a win for us in 2028, the far left communist, socialist and Muslim democrats are going to be clashing with the moderate democrats, which do exist. The party infighting will be epic, living in Massachusetts we see it here already. Take it to a national scale 2028 will bring President Marco Rubio or J.D. Vance. All is not lost, we've survived worse.

Just awhile ago after walking my dog, I came across my next door neighbor who was out front, she and her husband in their 70s, good friends, and even though we never speak of politics, they are Republican. She asked if I heard that Abbott was voted out and I replied "not only Abbott, but almost everyone on the ballot flipped to Democrat" and I rattled off some names and offices. She was floored, had no idea just how deep this went, and then I asked her if she voted. "No, we were out of town last week, and got sort of busy, we kinda forgot". And then explained while I shook my head that she missed elections in the past and it all still turned out well.

I didn't scold her or chew her out, she is still very nice and a friend. But this is the problem multiplied by millions. She just assumed everything was going to be Republican as usual, so if I miss a midterm election, so what?

Perhaps far too many folks felt that with DJT and other current leaders, they could rest easy. And they didn't show at the polls, thinking this time would be okay. But the fight is intensifying, battle lines are being more clearly drawn.

I heard an interesting comment last night on fox in this regard, which is that the Dem majority, in the House at least, is so large that the party leaders won't need to cater to the fringe wackos in their party to reach a majority vote. Let's see if that actually happens.

BTW, if there is any silver lining, at least short term, I've made back a metric shit-ton of money in my investment portfolios this morning. At least until the Dems figure out how to take it away.

I remember EVERYTHING! You do need to cede that there was the 'other side' involved, so EVERYONE else in the establishment (a.k.a. the media, both Houses of Congress, the Judiciary, some in his Administration, social media, etc) all allied against him! It wasn't so much that Trump made mistakes/didn't have a plan, it was that even knowing it wouldn't be a fair fight, he never really had a chance!

Iran is stoked today because Allah granted their prayer to have Trump's war funding curtailed.

While I will always accept that this country will persevere any and all election result, my fear is the younger generation.

They are stupid. No, not immature. They are stupid. Lack of knowledge whatsoever. Watching them answer...no, there is no answering...watching them be posed the simplest questions about this country and its value...watching them struggle to even answer how many minutes a quarter of an hour is. It infuriates me about the education system.

That is why we get the result on these elections. It's a herd mentality. They vote like they wear the latest fashionwear.

Okay...off my soapbox. My only hope is that they will mature and learn...

Not until the congress is sworn in. We can expect a major offensive soon.

Exactly so. We had two years to really get some shit done. Pencils down, books closed. At least we won’t have that jackass Al Green to deal with.
