You guys really are, because Texas is only going to get more Democrats as they spread their infection across the country.

OMG with Texas going blue, that must force the Texas GOP to run a candidate who is not poison and really come through with decreasign costs for homeowners. And Trump is so unlikable.........

Paxton was unelectable (like Kamala) and that Abbot did not do enough!

This is a pretty telling graphic of what happened it Texas Governor's race where Abbott had been polling solid, Polymarket had him winning, and the State's economy is soaring:

Similar thing happened in Texas US Senate. Media whitewashed Talarico's past views and presented him as a clean cut normal guy, and then Paxton got portrayed as so corrupt that his own party (i.e. the RINOs) impeached him:

Republican's lost in the places we typically lose (i.e. big urban cities), but failed to win suburbia like normal and lost the border which we had been doing well at.

The good thing about living in California is that this place is such a fucking nightmare politically that when the nation goes to shit we really dont notice it much.

There’s a lot of introspection needed here.

The places that voted overwhelmingly for Trump just 2 years ago, didn’t this time around.

A lot has changed in two years, but not that much from a demographics standpoint. This is deeper, but also simple.

In 2024, conservative voters rated these the most important issues:

1. Economy/Inflation
2. Immigration
3. Violent Crime
4. Foreign Policy/War

This time around, I’ve seen these three listed:

1. Economy/Inflation/Cost of Living
2. War
3. Corruption

It’s very consistent from 2024 to 2026, and when you view it with that in mind, the outcome tonight becomes clear. The first two issues are clearly areas where either the average voter hasn’t seen a positive impact, or where communication hasn’t been clear on why/what. For the last, no comment; Hunter Biden was a disgrace in terms of corruption, but that does not excuse similar or worse activity on our side.

The good news is the electorate is consistent - they punished the Republicans for not living up to their priorities, but can and will vote for them in the future if those priorities become a focus.

Yep. Thanks for that.
Rough night. Lessons to be learned.

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."
-- Justice Janice Rogers Brown

This squarely on Thune. This is what he and his buddies in the senate wanted all along. He will be busy slapping backs for quite a while.

Trump fatigue is a real thing. I'm tired of him and wish he'd just shut up and do his job. But he's not capable of toning it down, and despite what he says, he very much was on the ballot tonight. Not surprised in the least on tonight's results.

New Hampshire was a disaster for the Republicans as well. Kept the Governors seat but lost everything else to the Democrats. (US Senate and House, State Senate, House and Executive Council)
