So basically, teachers are quitting because they can't indoctrinate kids inappropriately. So if they can't flaunt their mental aberrations, they quit.

Don't let the door hit you in the ass.

Following the enactment of what critics call the “Don’t Say Gay” law, some LGBTQ teachers have quit the profession altogether.

The law, HB 1557, bans “instruction” about sexual orientation or gender identity “in kindergarten through grade 3 or in a manner that is not age appropriate or developmentally appropriate for students in accordance with state standards.” Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis signed it into law Monday. Parents will be able to sue school districts for alleged violations, damages or attorney’s fees when the law goes into effect July 1.

Lawmakers who support the law have repeatedly stressed that it would not prohibit teachers and students from talking about their LGBTQ families or bar classroom discussions about LGBTQ history, including events like the 2016 attack at the Pulse nightclub, a gay club in Orlando. Instead, they argue, it is about giving parents more jurisdiction over their children’s education.

But legal experts have said the broad language of the law could open districts and teachers to lawsuits from parents who believe any conversation about LGBTQ people or issues is “inappropriate.”

Good riddance. More states should follow suit. Run these idiots out of education.

What kind of lesson with 3rd graders would involve a mass murder event?

Utter hype/nonsense. As far as the gay teachers quitting, then I will quote Paul Blart (Mall Cop) "It's a classic two birds/one stone scenario."

NO teacher has any business discussing ANY sexuality in K-3rd grade.

Bunch of perverts.

Like most job positions in the job market, if it's a relatively good paying job, with tons of time off, just step aside and there's someone to take your place. That said, I would never have the patience to do that job and appreciate those that do with the proper mind set and social philosophy. None of this "I'll teach your kids what I think is important"

My son has taught 7-8 math and science for close to 15 years. He's not crazy about it but he likes his summers off. He's the kind of guy that would bulk at any job that required him to work late, weekends and go on a business trip at the drop of the hat. I think there's a lot of teachers that fall into this mind set so I wouldn't be overly concerned about teachers leaving in mass.

I would extend that pretty much up the line through grade 12.
Except for maybe a 15 min lecture in the sixth grade biology class.

This is the Pandora's Box we opened with gay-marriage. Frown

No.

I'm not starting a debate on that issue but it is the "give an inch - take a mile philosophy" that got us the 42 different sexes, letting little boys cut their dicks off to make them a girl, and all the cancel culture that follows.
It is all about normalizing the abnormal.

Is it just me or is the Left in Florida really starting to agitate and push already because they sense that DeSantis is growing in popularity and they fear a Presidential run from him in 2.5 years?

Literally no one wants you pieces of shit indoctrinating or "teaching" our children about sex period. Its insane that legislation needs to exist to block something like this.

I(f they're quitting over the newly enacted law, then what the law prevents is probably the main reason they went into teaching anyway.

Why would any liberal think it's okay for a stranger to talk about sex to their children just because the stranger has the job title of teacher?

Hell, they just recently learned they can't even trust bona fide genuine medical doctors.

"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." You the the LGBT crowd would be celebrating the law since it bans age inappropriate discussion about straight sex and cis-gendered people. I'd think they be jumping with joy to not have their kids normalizing "boys are not girls" and teaching that boys and girls have sex. Now they are free to teach multi-genderism, about gay sex, sex changes, and hormone therapy without the interference from government indoctrination.

Bye-bye!

I'm sorry that you just realized that you are a failure.
A failure in your profession
A failure in your life
A failure to your family

It should be Kindergarten through 12th grade.
The only people talking to children about these topics should be their parents or people approved by the parents.
